“Forensic Heroes IV” Finally Premieres Next Monday

After a series of unfortunate setbacks, Forensic Heroes IV <法證先鋒IV> is finally ready to air.

There are many reasons to tune in Forensic Heroes IV, which premieres next Monday, February 17th. It is Mui Siu-ching’s (梅小青) last drama before retirement and Selena Lee’s (李施嬅) last drama of her TVB contract. It features heavyweight guest stars, playing up the nostalgia factor.

Forensic Heroes IV is the second reboot of the CSI-like police procedural series, which was created by Mui and originally starred Bobby Au-yeung (歐陽震華), Frankie Lam (林文龍), Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧), and Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣). The 2006 hit series paved the way for an even more popular 2008 sequel, which included the additions of Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎). In 2011, the series was rebooted with stars Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Maggie Cheung Ho-yee (張可頤), Ron Ng (吳卓羲) and Kate Tsui (徐子珊).

The new series stars Raymond Wong Ho-yin (黃浩然) as a senior chemist and supervisor of the police department’s forensic laboratory. Selena Lee plays a senior forensic pathologist, and Alice Chan (陳煒) stars as a scientific evidence officer. On the police side, Shaun Tam (譚俊彥) stars as a senior inspector of criminal investigation department, with Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) as his sergeant.

Forensic Heroes IV will feature a myriad of guest stars, including Patrick Tse (謝賢), Michelle Yim (米雪), Nina Paw (鮑起靜), and Mak Ling-ling (麥玲玲).

    1. @mike I’m not digging it either but they did this sunglasses thing every season in the last episode where the whole crew gets called to a crime scene.

  1. I won’t be surprised if the ratings would hit high as people doesn’t spend much time outside now, just glad they reshoot everything without Jacqueline Wong!

I still remember Bobby version which was probably the best. But i’ll definitely tune in this one and give it a chance.

  2. Is Mak Ling Ling a fortune tellers and a Actress too? What’s with the sunglasses? Are they trying to looks cool or something?

    1. @cutie777 Probably previous installments have the same promo sunglasses indoors? haha lol… You know how TVB is even promos get the same old boring format. Yes, that Mak Ling Ling I think I did see her face in one of those series randomly. It’s amazing how they incorporate feng shui people into series now huh… Talk about misfits. haha lol…

  3. Waa…such a boring cast. Raymond Wong and all those faces again and again except for Shaun Tam.

  4. Um, I actually disagree with this article’s assertion that FH 2 was more popular than FH 1…I actually hated FH2 because they put the original characters on the back burner to make way for new characters….but maybe that’s just me…I’m sure the fans of the new characters they added would disagree with me…

As for FH 4…well, all I can really say is that it’s probably the worst cast out of all 4 installments and the guest stars aren’t exciting either….and I like Mui Siu Ching, but she lost her touch a long time ago…the series she produced in the 80s and 90s were heaps better than the ones she’s done in the last 20 years (same goes with her husband Lau Ka Ho). Probably not a bad idea to retire….

    1. @llwy12 Same! Hated how the second instalment turned Bobby and YoYo into supporting characters. Charmaine and Kevin were so annoying. The series was unnecessary long too.

The third instalment was laughable with the weird set designs (Wayne’s apartment looking like an art deco museum), the tablets, and forced relationships.

FH 1 will forever be my favourite.

  5. Looks like I won’t be watching any TVB series this year and years to come (likely).

  6. FH1 will always be the best for me – don’t really remember FH2 but I didn’t like the larger focus on Charmaine and Kevin’s characters because the face of the FH series will always be Bobby, Yoyo, and Frankie for me. I liked FH3, didn’t care for the police side because they didn’t really matter nor did I care for the romance (I preferred Wayne and Nancy). Still, I like this cast but also have read spoilers for the romantic storylines that’ll occur and can’t say I’m attracted to those either. Will be watching! Excited that they’re picking back up on that clown case they left off on as a cliffhanger at the end of FH3!

  7. I’m only watching for Selena and Raymond. Can’t stand Alice Chan’s mouth acting and Rebecca’s accent.
