Fred Cheng and Stephanie Ho’s Wedding Plans Ruined

Fred Cheng (鄭俊弘) and Kayee Tam (譚嘉儀) arrived at TVB Studios yesterday afternoon to film a show for Mother’s Day. Reporters asked Fred about his plans for that day, and he shared that his mother is still in Hong Kong. Since she gets along very well with his future mother-in-law, he plans on celebrating with both of them.

“I haven’t thought about gifts yet, but we’re planning on having dinner. We can’t go out, but Stephanie Ho (何雁詩) usually cooks. A few days ago, our families gathered for a casual dinner. She was so nervous about what to cook. In the end, she made braised beef brisket and stir-fried shrimp and egg among other things. It was really yummy!”

In regards to his wedding which was originally planned for the end of this year, Fred lamented that they were supposed to have a destination wedding in the United States but due to the pandemic, the had to change their plans. “Stephanie is a little disappointed. We already paid deposit and were going to have a party in the US. Now we’re planning on having our wedding banquet in Hong Kong instead. However many hotels are fully booked for the end of the year. Last night, we made a rough estimate of how many guests we would have and realized we would need at least 30 tables, so it’s a bit of a headache.”

Kayee Tam had brought along her mother and other family members for filming. Since her mother’s birthday is also in April, the family usually celebrates both occasions together. “Usually, we each cook a dish as a present. This year, I will be cooking braised mushroom with chicken wings. I studied overseas so I have honed my cooking skills. This dish is my best!”

Asked when she will find a boyfriend, Kayee joked that her eyes were instantly filled with longing. They pushed for Fred to introduce someone, and he instantly said he had some friends that would make great boyfriend material. Kayee rejected that, and said that every relationship should start with friendship first!
