G-Dragon Embroiled In Drug Use Scandal

The latest high-profile celebrity to be grilled in drug scandal-rocked South Korea, G-Dragon of BigBang fame is under police probe for suspected drug use! While he has issued a statement through his lawyers denying illegal drug use, South Korean authorities are reportedly going ahead with an arrest warrant and have imposed a travel ban.

“Booked Without Detention”

Parasite star Lee Sun-kyun and Yoo Ah In have also been under the spotlight for alleged drug use.

Booked without detention for alleged drug use on October 25, Wednesday, the police stated that the 35-year-old’s case is separate from acclaimed actor Lee Sun-kyun, who is also being grilled. G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, has flatly denied allegations in his statement released by his agency, in which he promised to cooperate actively with investigations. A travel ban has been imposed on both by the country’s Ministry of Justice, to prevent them from leaving its borders

The police has stated that it will abide by established procedures in its investigations, reflecting the country’s tough stance against drug use. Meanwhile, entertainment agencies have been quick to issue clarification statements defending their artistes amid ongoing rumors of other high-profile celebrities being connected to Lee’s case, which was allegedly exposed after a tip-off from a club in Gangnam, Seoul’s upscale district.
