Snapped hanging out with an influencer who closely resembles Edison Chen (陳冠希) recently, has Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) taken it one step further? The 42-year-old, whose marriage to “Sunny Wang (王陽明) of the medical world” Michael Lai (賴弘國) ended in 2020, is believed to have vacationed Phuket with the wealthy 2G named Huangpu Shenghua (皇甫聖華) or Sam, with the two spotted wearing matching Ray-Ban eyewear and luxury bangles!

More than Friends?

In early June, Sam had also turned up when Gillian met up with good friend and influencer Grace Chow (周揚青) for a meal catch-up. The two’s close body contact– Sam was seen hugging Gillian and giving her a peck on the cheek– swiftly set the internet ablaze with talk that they were more than friends.

As Sam had “checked in” at Phuket shortly before Gillian shared her vacation album, and both parties had “liked” each other’s social media photos, speculation arose that the two were in fact vacationing together, while eagle-eyed users pointed out that both wore “Cartier LOVE” bangles, an iconic series with a price tag costing up to six figures in HKD, described by the jeweler as “a symbol of free-spirited love.”
