Making her debut 17 years ago, Janice Man (文詠珊) has become an actress in high demand. In recent years, Janice has focused on the Mainland Chinese market and many of her dramas have been well received.
Born into a wealthy family, Janice’s parents later faced financial difficulties due to business problems. Janice’s family moved from a private house into public housing. When Janice was only 14 years old, she became a model to earn money for the family. Along with Angelababy (楊穎), Janice led the first generation of Hong Kong psuedo-models (lang mo).
In 2007, Janice made a successful transition to acting and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Horse Awards for her roles in Helios <赤道> and Cold War II <寒戰II>.
Janice is leading in Wong Jing‘s (王晶) new film adaptation of The Heaven Sword and the Dragon Sabre <倚天屠龍記> with Raymond Lam (林峯). Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, principal photography has been but on hold.
Husband Treats Her Like a Queen
Last September, Janice married rich third generation boyfriend Carl Ng (吳啟楠) after five years of dating. The couple held an extravagant wedding in Lake Como, Italy. Though her husband’s worth is estimated to be over $100 million HKD, Janice still wants to work and regularly flies between China and Hong Kong to film. She has been taking time off and staying in Hong Kong to avoid the virus.
Recently seen walking her dog with friends at the Cyberport Waterfront Park, Janice and her friends did not seem worried and did not wear surgical masks. Instead, she was seen with a portable air purifier around her neck. The group stayed until early evening. Her husband, Carl, was seen carrying their dog and heavy bags whereas Janice was talking with her friends and walking slowly back towards the car. It seems that Carl really dotes on Janice and treats her like a queen!
