#2 is really cute. I feel that unless you can speak some Cantonese, you have zero chances of winning the title.

Although I’m from Vancouver, Vancouver winning again? Rigged? Lol

@anon Well Jennifer from Vancouver won and she can hardly speak any Cantonese, so maybe the language barrier didn’t matter

@mindee Some is still better than none. #2 couldn’t speak any. Correct me if I am wrong.

@anon All #14 can say was “I’m very happy!” and her interviews were mostly in English though

Good to know. For some reason, I don’t find her attractive. To each their own. 🙂

Everyone thinks #2 is cute. To me she looks so fake and clueless lol. She’s like “I’m so cute hehehe I don’t know what I’m doing here just vote for me I’m super cute…wink wink”
I think #14 has her own unique look. She’s very pretty actually. Me personally I don’t think she won because she’s from Vancouver but because there wasn’t really any competition for her. She beats everyone else look wise. I don’t know about intelligence or whatnot because the question didn’t seem to be very challenging to them this year maybe? They didn’t even do the 30 second selling themselves. We didn’t get to hear them talk that much so can’t really judge on their Cantonese or intelligence. I just feel like TVB starts to not giving a sh*t about this anymore they are just doing it for the sake of it. The atmosphere seems really weird. Like, whatever let’s get this over with. It’s about to go away, watch.

@kaykay408 yep #14 is very pretty. As for #2 I think she scored very highly at first because of her cuteness, but I think she lost because of her singing performance she was off key

@mindee glad #2 are not in top 3 though. She’s like any typical teenager girls you see on the street nowadays. Acting all cute, giggling and all. She gives an impression of a “beauty with no brain” kinda girl. Don’t see any depth in her.
If you watch the 1999 miss Chinese international, you see a tremendous difference between girls back in the days and girls like #2 nowadays.

I find the host, Lawrence Cheng, to be really irritating and rude. Some of his comments make me pretty annoyed.

Also not completely relevant, but they did a mini interview with Christine Kuo, and my goodness – her Cantonese has improved so much!!

And to be more relevant to this, I think Louisa lost her chance at top 3 because she didn’t really stand out this time around, and she didn’t have the continuous “straight A” slogan hanging around like it did for Miss HK. Miss Vancouver really stood out in terms of looks and definitely body, so I’m not surprised she won. Just the language barrier didn’t show off their intelligence as much as it could have.

@ayyh0 I agree about Miss Vancouver 🙂 I thought the language barrier might have lessened her chances of winning but it didn’t matter in the end

@mindee it was an easy pick for the winner. She stood out from the beginning. The 1st and 2nd runner ups are not even close to her level. Mary Chen in top 3 was a surprise. I thought #4 was better than Mary. That performance of hers, my 9 year old nephew does that everyday, no kidding. Kids in the US plays with those cups everyday in school. And she’s not pretty nor cute.

@linahsuan I am too! When she competed at the Miss HK pageant everyone was so impressed by her just because she was a straight A student and studied at Cambridge, big deal. She isn’t that pretty

Another thing is when you actually hear her talk, shes gotten so full of herself from her win in Miss HK, I grown tired of her arrogance.

Well, very satisfied with the winner was #14 Jennifer C. from Vancouver. ..she is a real beauty with good body. Omg…what happened to #3 Louisa fr Hk she can’t even give a proper answer during Q&A session at the same time she lost 3 times to #2 Mint from Thailand so disappointed with her while her traditional costume design was terrible too.

Ok this may be a jerk thing to say but IMO, Jennifer looks like a tranvestite. ***RUNS AWAY*** I admit this is only from what I could tell from the photos. Maybe her onscreen is much prettier, like Karena Ng.

I can see some resemblance to Michelle Reis but they do not look like clones of each other. Michelle is def prettier & more feminine. Jennifer is actually built! Her body type doesn’t screen womanly to me. And I don’t even consider Michelle pretty in any case so I may be biased. I think Michelle is very classically good looking…handsome, but beautiful not really.
