Netflix’s popular Spanish crime series Money Heist is getting a South Korean remake and is slated to be released on June 24.
The 12-episode remake follows the storyline of the original series but will incorporate cultural references to fit with the setting. In Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area , a genius strategist nicknamed “The Professor” as he recruits a group of thieves and hatches the world’s biggest heist in the Korean Peninsula.
The new drama features a set of strong casts that include Yoo Ji Tae, Kim Yun Jin, Jeon Jong Seo, , Lee Wong Jong, Lee Hyun Woo, and Park Hae Soo. Many fans are already familiar with Park Hae Hoo after the actor shot to international fame for starring in Netflix’s hit series Squid Game.
To give fans a first look of the series, a new trailer has been dropped and fans are excited to see the series’ iconic masks have been replaced with a traditional Korean mask. In the trailer, Yoo Ji Tae narrates as “The Professor” and shares his plans of putting on a public performance and stealing a massive amount of money.
