Moses Chan and Wayne Lai Film New Drama, “The Love Firm”

TV Kings, Moses Chan (陳豪) and Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), recently started filming for new TVB drama, The Love Firm <傳愛事務所> with Fala Chen (陳法拉). Moses and Wayne will play lawyers, frequently competing together in courtroom scenes.

According to Producer Tsui Cheng Hong (徐正康), Moses and Wayne have great collaboration onscreen. He remarked, “I watched the playback, and saw the performances of the two deserving TV Kings. They are both powerful lawyers in the drama, and it’s evident that they both put thought into crafting their acting performances. They possess completely different styles. It could be seen that they put pressure on each other, but minor competition yields great results.”

Moses and Wayne proved to be very professional actors. Earlier, they shot a scene where their characters were in a “frenemy” relationship. They conversed like old friends behind the camera, but as soon as the camera started rolling, they immediately got into their roles. Moses said, “Wayne is known for having not having any outtakes. Since I would probably have more outtakes than him, it is important that I make enough preparations. The last time I worked with Wayne was in 2005, and it feels great to collaborate with him again.”

Physical outlook also seemed to be a factor of competition between Moses and Wayne. In fact, Moses admitted that he lost 15 pounds for his role. “Earlier, I started calculating the amount of fat in my diet. The most important thing is not consuming oil. But ever since filming began, I couldn’t prepare my own meals. I would ask the canteen staff to help me cook dishes without oil. I lost 15 pounds in less than two weeks. At work, everyone kept asking me to teach them how to keep fit.”

Regarding Moses’ successful weight loss, Wayne laughed and said that not wanting to lose to Moses, he cut down his food intake and only ate fruit for dinner. “Because it was Christmas earlier, I allowed myself to relax a little. I brought home a turkey and celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas with family and friends.”

Moses spent a satisfying Christmas Eve with his girlfriend, Aimee Chan (陳茵媺). He remarked, “We both love Christmas. Being able to find time to spend it together along with a group of friends was awesome. I also prepared Aimee a very valuable gift. As to what it is, it’s a secret.”

Fala had finished filming Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄 II> earlier with Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) and Chilam Cheung (張智霖). Now collaborating with two TV Kings, Fala had to make sure she placed a lot of effort in studying her lines, especially when many parts of the script were court dialogue. “It feels like studying for an exam,” she said. “Luckily, Moses and Wayne are both very caring, and they won’t place a lot of pressure on me. I feel relaxed at work.” Fala further remarked that both dramas were big challenges for her, but she really filming them.

      1. Plastic woman as in she can’t act or plastic surgery? Because she looks the same, maybe a botox or 2.

    1. If he doesn’t, Wayne Lai will be TV King again in 2013. Sad ……….. TVB does not have better actors!

      1. As of now, I would rather have Wayne win again in 2013 than Moses, unless Moses does really well in this series.

      2. Well, to me if the actor is good and deserves the award, I dont care if the actor gets it again and again.

    2. I’m sure Moses is gonna make this series interesting & comedial.

    3. Won’t happen because Wayne is best at comedy. However the idea of them as in Wayne playing lawyers is a bit too far fetched.

  1. Can’t wait to watch Wayne Lai and Christine Ng. It should be a funny series. I hope Michael Tse will win TVB king next year, if not Waynester gonna win again. Yeah!!!!

  2. Why is Christine never (or rarely) mentioned? Isn’t she one of the leads? Still looking forward to her and Wayne. 😀

  3. Does anyone know who fall is paired up in here with? Jason chan?
I know it’s a love triangle between Moses Wayne and Christine. So what about fala?

      1. I think the love triangle should be between Moses, Wayne & Fala, not Christine.

      2. I remember reading that the love triangle is between Wayne, Moses and Christine.

  4. Am placing high expectations towards this series. Hopefully it doesnt turn out a blunder like SSSS.

  5. If the hype lives up to the billing, it should be a pretty good and entertaining show. I would swap out Fala for Myolie or Tavia would be fine. Swapping out Christine Ng would be a bit difficult but if Sonija Kwok or even Sharon Chan or Mandy Wong would play that role, I think that would be fine.

    1. Why always Myolie and Tavia? Personally I think Fala Chen is good for this drama series. Myolie and Tavia had done too many lawyers drama series, and their acting was always the same. We should see Fala’s acting as a judge/lawyer. A change for the audience!

      1. Agree. Im getting bored seeing tavia. No offence its just that she does too much dramas with the same character as a lawyer and even the same hairstyle.

      2. Agree.Audience like new n fresh things. Myolie has been doing lawyers too many times, if i remember clearly she acted with Lam Fung long time ago, then with Liza Wong and with Kevin Cheng! Bored already. luckily, she is given a lead role with Wayne in RB3, a new role under the leadership of Tim Gor.

In fact, what vI am looking forward in this series is the collaboration between Moses and Wayne on how they can spark new chemistry after their long ago partnership….as both gave mature and gained much popularity especially Wayne in recent years.

  6. I hope it will be more serious than the sales presentation indicated. I find serious court dramas far more interesting.

Hmm, Fala always studies for her roles but professional roles require more gravitas than she can typically pull off.

    1. If Myolie and Tavia can act professional roles, why can’t Fala?

      1. … I’m not a fan of either Myolie and Tavia in the roles either.

        @ sophia

Nope. That’s not what I meant, because if it was, I would have said that instead.

    2. I guess talents play an important element in performing. Some ppl just have to put extra effort. Good try though.:)

  7. Even though I like dramas more than comedies, I wouldn’t mind this series being more comedic. Haven’t seen Wayne in a comedy for a long time and Moses and Christine are always quite funny. I think I’ll enjoy it whether it’s a comedy or drama.

  8. Interesting collaboration. However much I do adore Christine Ng, but I am even more looking fwd to Fala’s scenes with the two TVB Kings! Well, am in love with FF now… Not sure if this will overtake FF’s awesome castings :p
