Natalie Tong Does Not Mind Slow Progress in Career

After leading in last year’s Bullet Brain <神探高倫布>, Natalie Tong (唐詩詠) stepped away from the limelight. Although the series suffered in low ratings, Natalie’s performance was praised. Although she was not seen except for playing a supporting role in the currently airing drama, Storm in a Cocoon <守業者>, Natalie pursued other enriching experiences outside of TVB.

Besides appearing in last year’s Inferno 3D <逃出生天3D> with Louis Koo (古天樂), Natalie’s workload has been light. She is not unhappy that her television career has somehow come to a standstill. Natalie said, “Although I did not get much filming opportunities last year, I had a lot of time to think about my future. Everyone may think I am not doing anything, but my life is very fulfilling.”

Natalie also felt that she has changed. She said, “I once said that I was like a caterpillar. I was always following others’ directions. Right now, I have changed into a butterfly. Everyone may think she is fleeting everywhere, looking for something but she is actually flying according to her own direction.”

Unlike many of her peers, the 33-year-old actress does not mind the slow progress in her career. While the pace may not suit many others, it works for Natalie perfectly. “I am always moving forward but at the same time, I could stop to enjoy the scenery. I do not feel as if I am wasting time. On the other hand, you may end up being unhappy walking the shortcut. I do not wish to be like this because happiness is important to me.”

And because of this reason, Natalie does not mind people calling her foolish for sticking around Amigo Chui (崔建邦), who allegedly cheated on her several times in their relationship. Natalie said, “It’s not stupidity. I haven’t found a significant other. He hasn’t either. I don’t have much news. If you don’t write about him, then who should you write about?” Natalie stressed that the two are now friends who spend time together. She believes that Mr. Right will make his appearance one day. For now, Natalie is happy to maintain her simple life.
