Netizens Compare Jessica Hsuan to Charmaine Sheh and Tavia Yeung

Jessica Hsuan (宣萱) is being praised for her appearance in Prism Breaker <執法者們> where her character gets wrongly imprisoned after being framed. While Jessica’s acting talent shrines though in the drama, netizens can’t help but notice that Jessica, Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯)and Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) had all recently filmed scenes in a prison and coincidentally all had previously won the TVB Queen Award.

While Jessica is spotted with a more subdued image for her scenes, netizens praise the actress for being “a natural beauty and does not need any beauty filter.” Similarly, Tavia and Charmaine also recently filmed scenes where they were imprisoned in the Modern Dynasty series. Like Jessica, Tavia and Charmaine were praised for their emotional range and they also wore yellow prison uniforms. The prompted netizens to name the three actress collectively as “Three TV Queens in Yellow Prison Uniforms.”

Amber Chan Reveals Filming Experience with Jessica, Charmaine and Monica

Amber Chan (陳若思) is also gaining recognition for her scenes in Prism Breaker and was noted to have also filmed with Charmaine and Monica Chan (陳法蓉) in the past two years. Jokingly nicknamed as the “Senior Actress Collector”, Amber was asked what was it liked to be working with the three talented actress.

Amber responded, “I have gained a lot from working with several seniors. I am sure that every time I finish filming with them, I have improved more than before. I always feel that I was very lucky in 2024. Although I don’t have many opportunities to film dramas, all my opponents are very talented seniors who have taught me a lot.” When asked to compare the three seniors, Amber said seriously: “Charmaine is very sentimental and kind, Monica is very charming and calm, and Sister Jessica is very logical.”

Delving more into her experience in filming with Jessica, Amber shared, “I am able to relax when filming with Jessica. She is very funny, so I don’t feel that there is a generation gap between us. She is humorous, quirky, and I like her very much. She would always buy snacks for the front crew and behind the scenes. I think she and I are similar in this way. We are both people who don’t eat regular meals, but eat snacks”

Amber added that Jessica’s character is like her character’s older sister and would teach her many things. Likewise in real life, Jessica would take advantage of the break in filming to share her valuable life experience: “I remember when I finished filming, I mustered up the courage to ask her for a photo, and then stayed to chat with her for half an hour. She is a very friendly senior.”
