Raymond Lam Unafraid of Losing Fans for Dating Karena Ng
Ever since Raymond Lam’s (林峯) relationship with Karena Ng (吳千語) was publicly revealed, he has been targeted as the media’s focus. In a recent interview, Raymond openly spoke about his romance with his girlfriend for the first time. He emphasized that he wishes for a stable lifestyle, warning the media not to hurt his loved ones.
After experiencing a heartbreaking scandal with Mavis Pan (潘霜霜) in 2011, did Raymond begin to approach relationships with a different attitude? “Everyone has their own journey of growing up. I think the most important thing is to set a goal for myself and know my own position at certain times. It’s about doing well with the jobs at hand.”
Since the majority of Raymond’s hardcore fans are girls, was he worried about losing fans after the exposed relationship with Karena? “No. At a concert the day before yesterday, I was really happy to receive blessings from numerous fans. I’m truly touched by their many years of support and love for me.”
Raymond admitted that he makes romantic plans for his girlfriend. “I think it’s normal in a relationship. We are normal people. There’s no point in making a big deal when people see us going out for a meal. I hope everyone shares mutual respect, and give us a little free space.” Earlier, reporters took photos of Raymond and Karena kissing aboard an airplane. Did he feel that the media was being too pushy? “Not really. I understand that it’s their job. But everyone should remember to respect each other. I think it’s sad when reporters distort the truth.”
Taking his loved ones very seriously, Raymond expressed that it hits his bottom line when media tabloids intrude upon his girlfriend or family. “I believe this is the bottom line for everyone.” When Raymond was asked about what made Karena so attractive, he said he did not wish to share such personal things.
Being in TVB for many years, Raymond was always favored by the company’s executives. However, losing the TV King title last year seemed to be unsatisfying. Raymond revealed that he would be focusing towards music and movies this year. “Filming dramas take up months of time, and it’s hard to focus on other jobs, so I’ll be filming one or two dramas at most this year.” Later on, Raymond will be preparing for his next mainland drama, Lu Xiao Feng <陸小鳳>.
New Movie: Saving General Yang
A trailer of Saving General Yang <忠烈楊家將> was released two days ago in Beijing. Raymond portrays Yang Wulang in the movie, and he expressed having a great time collaborating with Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健), Wu Chun (吳尊), and Vic Chou (周渝民).
Since the movie stars many handsome actors, was there a lot of competition? “The movie required a big team for production. Everyone knew their own position, as well as how to play their part. I don’t think there was any competition. In fact, it was more like coordinating with each other, because the movie is mainly about brotherhood. Although the seven characters carry different personalities, we all have the same goal, which is to save our father.”
Did anything dangerous happen during filming? Raymond replied, “There was one scene where the seven of us were on our horses, trying to escape from chasing soldiers. I noticed that Ekin looked like he was about to fall off his horse, but fortunately he managed to stabilize himself. The results would have been terrifying if he actually slipped and fell with the group of horses galloping towards us!”

Glad that he finally has that view of dating who he wants and is not afraid to lose fans. IF any fans are true, they should support him regardless of who he dates. He has admitted to dating Karena already so the press and everyone should give him more space and privacy. I am so tired of hearing the news about him and Karena.
I would rather hear more about his new works. I personally can’t imagine him as Lu Xiao Feng though.I would rather he play Ye Kai or another wu xia character.
I feel like they always give him or he always chooses ancient roles that are more than he can bear. Like Zhuge Liang for instance, does he really have enough experience, wisdom and knowledge of ancient history to portray and look the part rightfully? So I agree, and frankly don’t have high hopes in his upcoming portrayal of LXF.
What are the characters of LXF that are that hard to portray? Jimmy Lin acted LXF with his baby face before :P.
I am Raymond’s royal fans…don’t care how many trip his went in a month and how much he spend on his trip…he is 33, it is very normal that he need to date and one day get marry…AS LONG AS he will still focus on his work…don’t miss the promotion, don’t be late to work…just still provide the quality of work, performance, art, drama, songs…I will love him, support him forever….Reporter, please leave them alone….amen

I am definitely not Raymond’s die hard fan no more. He seems to change a lot for worst after dating Karena. His hair, style, fast music is awful. Wth happened to him? The main reason is that he is dating a 19 year old. I am cool with dating an older man. But Raymond is a hot celeb and for him to be with someone younger than me… Its a no no!!! So annoyed of all his stupid news with her.
