[STYLE] 2014 TVB Anniversary Gala Red Carpet Fashions
The 48th TVB Anniversary Gala was held on November 19, 2014 with over 100 artistes in attendance. Aside from Wong Cho Lam‘s marriage proposal to Leanne Li, the red carpet looks also created memorable moments for the evening.
Sexy Samantha Ko never ceases to amaze. The purple-blue, off shoulder mermaid dress from Moreno Bridal accentuates the curves of her body in just the right places. The Titanic-themed jewelry is kept minimal and couples well with her overall look.
Love Krystal Tin’s rocker-chic hairstyle! The dress covers everything, but is the right amount of humbly sheer. Krystal Tin pulls off this otherwise difficult dress well with a well chosen belt. A win for the night!
Kate Tsui dons a pale-pink colored bodice dress. While the dress flatters her bust and displays an intriguing open-back, the cutting of the dress fails to accentuate her figure and makes her appear plumper than usual.
While the sheerness of Charmaine Sheh‘s dress brings out a demure sexiness, the heaps of flower cut outs are too busy and ruin the elegance of the dress.
Koni Lui showcases her hourglass figure in an Alex Lam metallic-colored mermaid dress.
Angela Tong and Eliza Sam look pleasant, but in forgettable dresses. Christine Kuo fares better in a flattering Winnie Heung black-lace dress, but it is Grace Wong‘s sheer teal gown by CindyAlan that stands out from the crowd of pageant beauties at the TVB Anniversary.
Alice Chan‘s dress is in a striking magneta, but the draping detail appear loose and sluggish. The jewelry is exaggerated glitz and glamour though.
Once again, Sharon Chan shows that she has not put behind her wedding mood. The red with gold embroidery is reminiscent of a traditional Chinese style wedding dress, which is nearly wrecked by over-the-top jewelry glitz.
Angela Chiang looks ready for her prom date in a R.E.D. Valentino lace dress and glittery pumps. Did she shop in the juniors section of a department store?
Excited bride-to-be Leanne Li shows off her figure in another teen girl prom dress.
Elaine Yiu appears clean and sleek in her clashing red top and white suit pant attire. The red cuffs are random, while the overall ensemble appear too casual for the event.
Sire Ma sports a simple light pink bodice dress. With a clean updo and marginal jewelry, her overall look is modest and uninteresting.
Ruco Chan is a heartthrob, but the golden suit from Etro has a strong plaid pattern that is difficult for anyone to pull off. The matching tie and clashing polka dot shirt overwhelms the already loud ensemble.
Kenneth Ma’s flamingo-colored suit insinuates a metrosexual edge. While the fitting of the suit is seemly, unfortunately Kenneth can not pull off pink.
Myolie Wu’s Tadashi Shoji dress may have been inspired by the judicial courts, with its high ruffled white shirt and austere black skirt. Completing the judge look is Myolie’s strange hairdo.
Linda Chung seems to have wrapped the red carpet itself around her in a scarlet Moiselle dress. While her look exudes a princess flair, she accessorizes with conflicting black nails. Her pink lips and light makeup are also dull.
Natalie Tong’s Pius Cheung dress stretches dangerously high up her leg. The top is tolerable, but the bottom portion of her dress is stiff and oddly stitched.
While I usually love high-low dresses and skirts, I am not a fan of Katy Kung’s attire. The light pink tone of her Moreno Bridal dress is girlish and the material of the dress is heavy and lackluster.
Priscilla Wong hauls an enormous nude-colored dress by Pius Cheung on her thin frame at the event. Although the chiffon material should be relatively light, the bulky frame consumes her small body.
Is Bosco Wong trying to audition for the role of a priest in a new exorcist film? His robe-like suit is odd, to say the least.
Dodo Cheng yet again appears in a cutesy and girlish light pink gown by her favorite designer, Dorian Ho. The exaggerated rose configures right smack in the middle of her chest.
Liza Wang seems to have been inspired by Lady Liberty herself with the spiked diadem hair piece. The purple outfit is relatively meek, but is paired with a peculiar pastel-colored necklace.
