Tiffany Tang Tired of Talking about Her Love Life

Ever since establishing her own studio in 2012, mainland Chinese actress Tiffany Tang (唐嫣) has worked seemingly without rest, with at least four television dramas pending broadcast. However, her entertainment career is rarely the focus of her fans and the media, who almost always zero in on one issue: “Do you have a boyfriend yet?”

The question is so common that Tiffany has prepared a stock answer: “He is still on the way.” After all, she herself is not worried, nor are her parents rushing her into marriage. In fact, the only anxious ones seem to be the reporters.

“When he does appear, I will tell you and you can interview him then,” Tiffany recently said to the press. “You don’t have to ask me every day.” She also jokingly added, “Maybe he has short legs, so he can’t run very fast.”

Tiffany is also no stranger to comparisons between her love life and that of close friend Yang Mi (楊冪), who tied the knot with Hawick Lau (劉愷威) earlier this year. At the wedding ceremony, Tiffany served as the maid of honor and received the bridal bouquet, but wedding bells are not yet ringing for her.

“She [Yang Mi] has introduced [some people] to me, but none of them were successful,” explained Tiffany. “I’m more passive when it comes to love, and I’m afraid of strangers. So I have a psychological barrier against blind dates; looking at photos and sending out one’s information is like recruiting actors.”

Looking for Mature, Realistic Chinese Man

Despite being known as the campus beauty when she was studying at the Central Academy of Drama, Tiffany is fairly down-to-earth when talking about her standards for her significant other. For one, she would prefer someone more mature, since she still considers herself a little childish. Moreover, she wants someone more realistic, explaining that she gets enough romance in her dramas.

Apart from these characteristics, Tiffany would also like her boyfriend to be taller than her, have regular features, and not be younger or older than her by more than ten years. To her, it does not matter if he is a part of the entertainment industry, but she cannot imagine herself in a relationship with a non-Chinese man.

Too Busy with Work for Love

However, Tiffany readily admitted that she is currently too busy with work to have time to pursue a relationship. She has five dramas expected to air this year or next, and just ten days ago, she started filming Live Flesh <活色生香> in Shanghai. There was even a time when her schedule was so packed that she worked 20 hours per day for an entire month.

Though her focus is still on her career, Tiffany is now paying much more attention to her health. She tries to get eight hours of sleep every night, and she hopes to arrange for a buffer period between each of her projects, so she will have one or two months to explore some of her personal desires – such as finding a boyfriend.

  1. She’s a bad actress overall which mean she should find a husband instead of acting.

  2. I think she should go beyond just Chinese men. There are many great men in this world and by restricting yourself like that, you will miss out on many great guys. I have seen and met some women like that and sadly, some of them ended up unhappy because of that restriction. Love knows no race, skin color or nationality. Some that have fallen in love do know that.

  3. she matches with sammul chan, he’s single and older than her. they both look good together.

  4. I also like her with Sammul Chan, even though he is currently linked with Shu Chang.
