Ruby Lin (林心如) recently invested $276 million Hong Kong dollars into producing Taiwanese drama Light the Night <華燈初上>, in which she also takes the leading role. Set in 1988, the story follows the lives and struggles of those in Taipei’s red light district. With filming ending after four months of hard work, Ruby hosted a wrap party for the cast and crew at a Taipei hotel, where they also took the opportunity to celebrate the actress’ 45th birthday.
Spending the night toasting the crew, Ruby drank for eight hours straight. In contrast to her excitement, Ruby’s husband Wallace Huo (霍建華) was very calm and quiet and took care of her the entire night. Other than spending a few moments talking with Xiu Jie Kai (修杰楷), Wallace remained at his own spot at the table and smiled while watching everyone drinking.
Actresses Cheryl Yang (楊謹華), Puff Kuo (郭雪芙), and Nikki Hsieh (謝欣穎) were in high spirits and spent the night drinking, displaying their strong alcohol tolerance.
The group partied until 3 a.m., and Ruby was clearly intoxicated by the end of the night. As her feet wobbled, she stretched out her hand to Wallace for support. In contrast, Wallace was very sober and escorted his wife safely home. Throughout the night, he was a patient husband quietly watching his wife have fun. The couple’s behavior thoroughly shattered earlier rumors of discord in their marriage.
