Tavia Yeung as Kenneth Ma’s Protector in “Noblesse Oblige”
In new TVB drama, Noblesse Oblige <宦海奇官>, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) will be solving quirky cases and taking down corrupted overlords with Tavia Yeung (楊怡).
Kenneth portrays a spoiled and entitled rich heir To Chun Fung, who becomes his county’s magistrate by chance. He is protected by the skillful female warrior Wai Lam (Tavia Yeung), who is on her path to become a Buddhist nun.
Fung is the lazy, uneducated, and unmotivated illegitimate son of the wealthy To Chor Lam (Lau Dan 劉丹), who lends Fung money to open his own bank for peasants. After meeting Prince Yung Chan (Ram Chiang), who admires Fung’s cleverness and knowledge of trivial matters, this pushes Fung to be his county’s magistrate. After owing Fung mounds of debt, Wai Lam is forced to pay Fung by being his personal body guard and servant.
Wai Lam is one of Tavia’s most physical roles of her career. As a martial artist, Wai Lam often has to fight criminals to protect Fung. “I haven’t had such an action-packed role in a long time. It’s really fun to play, but I got injured all over!”
Together as a team, Fung and Wai Lam take down many corrupted noble lords, cleansing the royal court of disloyal officials. Fung does not abide to the rules and often uses odd and borderline unethical ways to solve cases. Even so, Fung has a heart of gold and Wai Lam eventually falls for Fung’s kind nature.
“Kenneth is tall and large, but he has to rely on me and Cilla Kung (樂瞳) to protect him! He is completely spoiled, but even so, he has a soft side to him,” Tavia said.
Noblesse Oblige, produced by Lee Tim Sing (李添勝), will air on December 29, succeeding the time slot of Lady Sour <醋娘子>.

Millie,Ruco is a good actor , handsome too not wood block as you said , do watch more of tvb series and you can tell who is acting good . i dont think you have a sense of drama watching
O dude I grew up with TVB series… Ruco is a big wood block… Bosco is miles betta.
The plot sounds very similar to the old drama I used to watch as kid. The guy is a lawyer and his wife is a kungfu fighter.
I think you referring to Justice Sung? That was an ok series, but I wasn’t a fan of either lead in that show. Did get to see Dayo Wong in an evil role which was good though.

After being tortured watching Linda Chung and Kate Tsui in recent dramas, what a breath of fresh air to see Tavia again. Had not seen her since Storm In A Cocoon and I can’t wait to see my lovely lady on screen once more. Move aside Linda and Kate.

In my view, Steve-Tavia has more chemistry as they seem to have a deeper and inner understanding of each other whereas with Kenneth is more outward. But I love Ruco-Tavia combination best.

Hahaha that’s so true! I think Kenneth has been typecasted. He keeps on getting these happy-go-lucky roles. I personally adore them but they’re all very similar.
