Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝) and Nicholas Tse’s (謝霆鋒) 6-year marriage has officially ended! The pair filed for divorce last summer after an inability to resolve marital differences. Since Cecilia and Nicholas still loved each other and have two sons, Lucas and Quintus, speculations continued that the pair would reconcile. Although Nicholas and Cecilia were still friends, the court had officially approved their divorce filing!

It was understood that Cecilia Cheung received the divorce papers on May 20th. Cecilia’s manager, Ms. Chow, confirmed that Cecilia and Nicholas were now officially divorced. Nicholas Tse was unable to be reached for comment on the matter.

Cecilia Cheung Heading to 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival

Yesterday was Cecilia Cheung’s 32nd birthday. She appeared at the Hong Kong airport, flying to France to attend the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Cecilia will be in Cannes for approximately one week, promoting her new film Dangerous Liasions <危險關係>, which was a finalist competing in the Cannes’ Directors Fortnight category. The film also starred Jang Donggun and Zhang Ziyi (章子怡), who did not attend the film festival.

It was reported earlier that Cecilia was offered a role in a major Hollywood action movie, starring opposite either Nicholas Cage, Russell Crowe, or Hugh Jackman! Cecilia’s management company confirmed that negotiations were currently in progress.

At the Hong Kong airport last night, Cecilia appeared to be in a jovial mood. Normally curt with the media in the past, Cecilia was unexpectedly curteous, advising reporters to be careful in walking and not trip. With her career in the international spotlight and setting up her own production studio recently, Cecilia appeared to have a newfound level of maturity since separating from ex-husband, Nicholas Tse.

Nicholas Tse Continues CEO Track

Nicholas Tse was the successful CEO of  Post Production Office Group, a post-production company generating $100 million HKD in annual revenue. Displaying an earnest passion for cooking recently, it was speculated that Nicholas may even open his own restaurant business.

Appearing at a guest presenter at a culinary event yesterday, Nicholas’ mother, Deborah Li (狄波拉), commented, “Attending this event tonight, I’m afraid everyone will think that Nicholas will be entering the dining industry!” Asked whether Nicholas was indeed interested to open his own restaurant, Deborah replied, “Although I support my son to open a restaurant, the rents in Hong Kong are too high! It is difficult to afford!”

What you say is only part of the story. A marriage that can last longer doesn’t mean it is a good or happy marriage.

Such marriage can survive longer because their wives are tolerant of their husband’s open-end affairs outside their marriage and not because their husbands are loyal to them…..

Tony bought up a good point, just because a marriage lasts doesn’t mean that it is happy. Longevity and happiness are 2 different things. It is great to have both though.

HTS, if you become my wife, I honestly can guarantee you a long lasting marriage until death but to ensure a permanent happiness, you must also do your part :- i.e. you must be tolerant of the possibility that I may have an extra wonderful relationship outside of marriage.

HTS, you must be realistic of guys these modern days. You cannot always lock them up and expect them to forever stand by you sexually when you can’t satisfy them on bed anymore (if it happens one day). If they know how to go home everynight, that is considered to be best and luckiest you can hope from your men….

Their relationship had been a tumultuous one. I feel that they truly loved each other yet being who they are, it would’ve made things much more challenging.

Definitely agree. Even in a relationship, love cannot conquer all. Let alone a marriage where sacrifices are expected. Of course its a pity though.

yeah…letting their beloved men to “eat outside” without their wife’s knowledge is the most expensive sacrifice that women seldom can afford of…….but it really worth lots with ever lasting happiness if they can tolerate such behavior with big open heart….

I hope Cecelia will not be accepted to act in any overseas (other than china/taiwan region) esp, in an internation production that involves HUGE MEgastars..
Her acting is wooden. Her voice is wooden. He smile is wooden. The only thing great in her acting role is her involvement in Edison’s private “acting project”. She will be a laughing stock in the international acting arena and hope she will not embarrased herself as well as Us Asians..!!

If this couple really loves each other they will able to accept each other faults. I don’t think they loves each other so much that they can sacrifice their children happiness and they are very selfish for themselves.
And it is good Cecilia did not go back to Nicholas which I think he is not suitable for her. Cecilia will able to find a much much better man in the future and will makes her happy for the rest of her life if she open up her to feel the correct one. She should never find someone in the entertainment industry to be next husband if she wants a happy marriages.
