Ekin Cheng and Yoyo Mung’s Doomsday Wedding Postponed

Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健) is not a fan of weddings, but in August 2012, he announced at the after-party of his Hong Kong concert tour that he plans to wed his girlfriend of six years, Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧). The media speculated that the 45-year-old Ekin and 36-year-old Yoyo will hold their marriage on doomsday, December 21, 2012, but till this day, no one has received a wedding invitation from the couple.

As reported by Hong Kong’s Face Magazine, Ekin and Yoyo did not have enough time to prepare the wedding by the December 21 deadline, and decided to postpone their wedding to 2013.

On Sunday morning, Ekin and Yoyo, hand in hand, were spotted at the Hong Kong International Airport, waiting for their flight to Tokyo.

Ekin and Yoyo checked into one of Tokyo’s top five star hotels, the Cerulean Tower Tokyo. The room they stayed in is estimated to cost over $3,000 HKD per night.

Ekin and Yoyo never confirmed the exact time and location of when their wedding would occur. However, at an earlier promotional junket, Ekin revealed that he has plans to go on vacation until May of next year, hinting that the wedding would happen before May 2013.

At another function, Yoyo revealed that a wedding is planned, but the exact day of the wedding ceremony has not been set yet. “I am looking at the possible dates. I will send out wedding invitations after figuring out the most convenient time for everyone,” said Yoyo.

  2. I say this to my friends “Wedding is one day. Marriage is a lifetime”. No matter how much you plan, somethings will always happen. Don’t get too upset on what can and will go wrong. Just enjoy the day and think about the future together.

    1. maybe they were hoping the world really would end so they wouldn’t have to get married? :p
