Ekin Cheng Generous With Money Towards Girlfriends
After dating for seven years, Ekin Cheng (郑伊健) finally announced his intentions to wed Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧) next year. Ekin’s acknowledgement of their wedding plans pleased Yoyo tremendously. However, it was reported that Yoyo was not satisfied with just marriage and wanted to share Ekin’s assets!
Yoyo Reported to Own 49% of Ekin’s Company
Currently filming TVB drama, A Great Way to Care 2 <仁心解碼II>, Yoyo allegedly mentioned to her costars, Alex Fong (方中信) and (Tavia Yeung楊怡) that Ekin added her name to his business. It was reported that Yoyo now owned 49% of Ekin’s company, clearly splitting Ekin’s assets.
Hearing this negative of report of his fiancee, Ekin quickly defended Yoyo and clarified, “I did not! We are financially independent. The only time our finances are muddled is during vacation time!”
Ekin Generous With Money in Previous Relationships
Ekin was reportedly adamant about keeping Yoyo and his finances separate because he had learned from previous relationships. When he was dating Maggie Shiu (邵美琪), they had purchased property jointly, with some properties registered under Maggie’s name only. After their relationship ended, the majority of the assets went to Maggie.
An insider revealed, “The incident with Maggie impacted Ekin greatly. It’s not just about the money. Ekin believed that money lost can be earned back. Ekin knows that feeling are uncontrollable and can not be changed. But Ekin’s good friends constantly remind him not to repeat history, that he should not purchase property jointly with his girlfriend!”
Yoyo’s Wish Comes True
Some people thought that Ekin would never get married. However, seeing his friends marry one after the other, Ekin wished for the same and hoped to treasure Yoyo. Prior to the announcement, Yoyo was a diligent girlfriend and did not disclose their wedding plans until Ekin made the first move.
The insider disclosed, “Yoyo is indeed very patient. When Ekin promised to marry her, Yoyo was ecstatic. However, Yoyo had to refrain from proclaiming the good news even when tabloids exposed their wedding plans. Yoyo did not discuss about marriage, in order to complement Ekin. She feared that if she spoke too much, her boyfriend would be displeased. Yoyo truly understands Ekin’s personality. The more you push him, the further he would run. If Ekin did not disclose it, Yoyo would not admit it. With the confirmation of the wedding, she finally got what she wanted!”
It was initially speculated that Ekin and Yoyo’s wedding would take place in January 2013. With Ekin’s announcement confirming that the wedding is indeed set for next year, perhaps the rumored time may be accurate.

I don’t know if Ekin is a good choice for Yoyo. Personally I have no confidence in Ekin. He changed partners so easily after many years of close relationship, such as Maggie Siu and Gigi Leung Wing- Kei. In other words, marriage will not be able to bind Ekin and Yoyo for life.
But he is a one girlfriend at a time for long term basis even if he doesn’t want marriage or children. So long he meets a woman who thinks the same and I think Yoyo is the same sort except BOTH must be bowing to pressures from family.
The rumours are ripe back then that Gigi steal Ekin while Ekin was still with Maggie. Gigi has 3rd party and stealer printed on ehr forehead for a long time.

I think if a guy does not want to keep his girlfriend, breakup after a year or twos. Don’t wait for 9 years. 9 years are a lot to a woman, especially if she is late 20s. She will be too old to find another good and young man. Not every woman can find another man right after a breakup, like Ekin did in his two long-term relationships.

I agree with sandcherry. That’s why I don’t like Ekin and Gigi, even until now. Maggie was one of the most beautiful actress at that time and her youth was wasted on a guy who cheats on her. I hoped she would find someone better but have yet to hear about her settling down, maybe she can’t really forget about the betrayal.

I don’t like the suggestion as if Maggie cheated him of his money with those properties. Remember he promised to take care of her for life when she was very sick? Consider that payment due and “divorce” settlement.
Also Maggie Siu gave her “best 9 whole years because of dating Ekin Cheng. Maggie quit acting completely for many years since Ekin promised to take care of her for life. Eventually he dumped her for Gigi Leung.

Unfortunately for Maggie, after all these years, Ekin dumped her for a younger model (Gigi). Gigi’s attractiveness was nothing compare to Maggie’s young days, Maggie looked mixed, she was so beautiful…. I am glad the people in Hong Kong and around the world turned on Gigi Leung and her career was over. Nobody likes a homewrecker.
agree, he announced that he take care of her on radio with thousand of listeners which is really bad when he split from her so he is not reliable caring person. As for Gigi well she got what she deserve but now very happily married.

I agree with you. 7 years is an awfully long time to finally come to the realization that a person is not the one after all. I think even after 3 years one can already tell if their partner is the one. Ekin not only had one 7 year relationship, but 3 in total so this guy is just staying together for the sake of having someone by his side and not for true love I think.
It is not fair for a female to go through with a male partner for more than 3 years. A female ages easily. There are not that many 7 (or even 9) years for a female. After mid 30s, it is harder for a female to find another compatible partner. It was not fair for Ekin’s female partners. You are right. I’ve always disliked public declarations of love, etc., in public by celebs. Are you so sure you will be able to keep to your promises at all? Look at those made by Myolie and Ekin, after some time they have come to naught, How sad. However, I’m glad that Ekin has at last decided to marry Yoyo, and I do hope he’ll at least keep his word on that and not need to say more.

Maggie Siu quit acting completely after she was assured by Ekin that he would take care of her for life. It took her many years to pull herself together and start acting again. She was then too old to take 1st lead roles. She had to switch to act support roles when she resumed her acting career.
Totally ruin Maggie’s career and youth.
I used to idol Ekin a lot until that day when he dumped Maggie for someone else after dating for 9 years. This is just too much for a woman to take it. Why does man want to hurt a woman if he does not plan to marry her? Every woman loves to wear the wedding gown and walks the red carpet with her loved one. However sad thing happens to me too when my 9 yrs boyfriend dumped me without any explanation 2 years ago.
Honestly when I look back at this relationship now, I am grateful of his decision as I am much happier and have finally found my prince charming who never treats me as an atm, who has self confidence and who is able to mix well with my family and friends.

If an artiste can change his mind so easily after a performance or drama series, he is not a trustworthy person.
