Raymond Wong Heads Home After 2-Week Hospitalization

Diagnosed with Behcet’s disease, Raymond Wong (黃浩然) was hospitalized for two weeks. Although looking pale, Raymond was full of smiles when he was discharged today. He shared the extreme discomfort he endured over the last month, but assured his current situation has stabilized.

“The doctor examined all my vital organs and said my heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys are functioning normally.” Responding to the media’s concern, Raymond also said that his reproductive organs are fine. However, he has to follow up with his doctor as his stomach is still inflamed. While his weakened health cannot allow rigorous exercise, Raymond can handle light walking and picking up his son from school.

When Raymond traveled to Australia to promote for a TVB drama in August, the symptoms of his illness peaked. “My throat was inflamed and did not respond to any anti-inflammatory medication I took. I was unable to swallow my own saliva for ten days.” Unable to eat solid food when he entered the hospital, Raymond weighed slightly over 130 pounds, but he has put on an additional ten pounds after his condition improved.

He regretted that his health condition forced him to drop out from TVB period drama, Cheung Po Tsai <張保仔>. “I hope the filming progresses well, as stepping down from my role caused the cast and crew a lot of headaches!” He thanked his colleagues for their concerns.

“I wish everyone health, as possessing a healthy body is the real wealth in life! I thank everyone and the medical staff for their care, especially [my wife], Mrs. Wong!” He is eager to return home as his wife, Kaka, has been busily juggling between taking care of Raymond at the hospital and their two sons at the same time.

  1. Should have waited for him. Anyway he looks good. He actually looks better now. He has always looked pale but yeah, he looks good. Rest well!!

    1. Funn,
Raymond’s health condition is still delicate. For his health’s sake, I’m glad he dropped out of “Cheung Po Tsai,” which has many action scenes. He wouldn’t be able to sleep well given the hurried filming. The crew will also travel to Hengdian in November, which would be too much stress in his early recovery. His stomach is still inflamed, and he is likely not eating well either.

  2. He still needs time to recuperate. Hope he gets better soon. He looks great in the pic though.

  3. Good that he is ok. Maybe the disease is not as serious as it seems.

  4. Raymond Wong looked very pale and skinny in the above photo. He seemed to have lost quite a few pounds due to his recent illness. Take a good rest and have a speedy recovery. Don’t rush back to film any drama series.

  5. 130 lbs for his tall frame is pretty bad. But I’m glad he is recovering.. Hope he will get a good rest and come back stronger!

  6. Hope he recovers soon. Would like to see him in future dramas. Hopefully, he can win a TVB anniversary award. I think he deserves one. Just need to wait for the exactly right role.

  7. Really sad to see Raymond Wong like that, hope he recovers soon. When he does, I hope he doesn’t work so hard anymore. For these past few years he’s been filming almost nonstop for TVB.
