Ben Wong Finds Success in Skincare Business
As an actor for nearly 36 years, Ben Wong (黃智賢) is known for versatility in playing many iconic roles. Despite his successful career with TVB, Ben recently disclosed that he switched from a management contract to a per-series contract. With more freedom to his career, Ben and his wife Maggie Loh (駱佩文) launched a thriving skincare brand.
Celebrating the fruits of his labor, Ben held a celebratory dinner and invited his friends from the entertainment industry. The guests included Timothy Cheng (鄭子誠) and his wife Lau Sin Yi (劉倩怡), Raymond Cho (曹永廉), Eileen Yeow (姚瑩瑩), and Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎).
Sharing a snippet of the night, Lau Sin Yi wrote, “When husband and wife are of the same mind, their strength can break gold… My good friend and his wife co-founded a skincare brand, and in just five years, they have achieved remarkable results. They held a 5th anniversary dinner recently, and everyone attended to show their support.”
Ben’s success did not come easy. When Ben and Maggie first met, the couple were struggling and were working in the same restaurant. The two eventually fell in love after getting to know each other, and after dating for 14 years, they tied the knot. During a low point in Wong’s career, Maggie did not put pressure on him even when they had financial difficulties. Instead, she constantly encouraged him to learn new things and try new opportunities. Throughout their marriage, Ben regarded Maggie as the “his one and only.”
When their finances stabilized, the couple purchased a house in Sai Kung for $8.95 million Hong Kong dollars which is not estimated to be over $10 million HKD. The couple agreed to not have children after marriage. Instead, the couple have three dog and treat them as family.
