Moses Chan and Aimee Chan Hold $3 Million Wedding in Paris

For weeks, Moses Chan (陳豪) and Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) were reported to be getting married due to the bride’s pregnancy. The couple finally tied the knot in a romantic wedding celebration in Paris, France. Aimee made the wedding announcement on June 12 and shared four wedding photos with the media.

According to Apple Daily, Aimee and Moses had registered for their marriage in May. The couple arrived with their parents in Paris for a five-day, four-night destination wedding celebration on June 9. The total costs of the wedding were estimated to be $3 million HKD, which included airfare, hotel, bridal gowns, rings, a wedding planner, and floral arrangements.

Aimee wore a Lanvin wedding gown that cost $68,200 HKD. Designed by Alber Elbaz, the shoulder-less gown featured elegant embellishments and a large bow in the back. She wore matching diamond stud earrings and a large diamond ring. In the evening reception, Aimee wore a loose black evening dress, which showed a thickening waist. Most of the photos featured only Aimee’s top torso, which may be intentional to hide her rumored three-month pregnancy.

Among their friends from the entertainment industry, only Heidi Chu (朱凱婷) and Priscilla Chi (戚黛黛) attended the wedding ceremony. Aimee was Heidi’s bridesmaid when she got married in 2010. Many of the couple’s friends can only send their congratulations via Weibo until Aimee and Moses return to Hong Kong.

Moses’ ex-girlfriend, Bernice Liu (廖碧兒) wrote, “Congratulations and all the best for you!”

Aimee’s Forensic Heroes 3 <法證先鋒3> co-star, Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), whom she shared romantic rumors with, said, “You are the sunshine of Mo’s eyes! So happy for you!!”

Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) wrote, “I wish you forever joy and happiness! You’re a match made in heaven!” Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯) said, “I was very happy to see this joyous news today. I wish you forever happiness and that your new chapter [in life] will be more beautiful!”

Aimee and Moses’ TVB colleagues and friends, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Liza Wang (汪明荃), Ada Choi (蔡少芬), Sonija Kwok (郭羡妮), and Bobby Au Yeung (歐陽震) sent their congratulations to the newlyweds as well.

Moses replied, “I’m very happy. I’ll say more when I return to Hong Kong. Thanks everyone for your blessings!”

  1. They had their wedding in Paris (France) or Paris (Ontario)? Why are different articles different venues?

    1. Qwerty,
Last night’s preliminary wedding news reported the couple getting married in Toronto, since that is where her family is based.

Today’s more detailed reports from Apple Daily state that Aimee and Moses got married in Paris, France.

      1. so it has already happened. poorly constructed title, “Moses Chan and Aimee Chan Held a $3 Million Wedding in Paris”, sounds better.

        sorry for being so anal.

      2. Paris, France makes a lot more sense than Paris, Ontario (speaking as someone who’s been to Paris, Ontario :P)

  2. Looks like they planned the wedding somewhat well. Not bad to the point that some people think it was a rush and both they not have time for hair-do.

    1. azndoraemon,
Actually with a wedding planner, planning the wedding quickly may not be too much headache. Judging by the size of their wedding cake, it was a very small group of people who attended their wedding, which makes travel arrangements much easier to handle.

I wonder if the couple will have a more lavish wedding banquet in Canada or Hong Kong in later months?

As for Aimee’s hair, her headband look is something she has been wearing for years. The Lanvin wedding dress suits her very well though.

      1. Jayne: As for Aimee’s hair, her headband look is something she has been wearing for years.

Maybe Aimee was following the old wedding tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?

Anyway, congratz and all the best to the newlyweds.

      2. Clamine,
I didn’t mean that her headband is actually an old headband, but she’s been wearing that style for at least the last two years. Just found the black evening gown and headband ensemble to be a bit plain. I like her Lanvin gown and long veil though. She has the figure to pull it off well.

      3. Jayne: I also find her hair and black evening gown ensemble overly plain for such an important occasion.

As to Aimee having the figure to pull off the wedding gown, actually it has been noted by many netizens the conspicuous absence of Aimee’s full length (at least below waist) wedding photos giving rise to rampant rumors that her pregnancy must be showing already.

      4. Clamine,
The pregnancy is obvious as Aimee and Moses have not directly denied it, thus indirectly admitting that it’s true. Since Aimee went to Canada in her first trimester, she’ll likely be there for the rest of the year.

      5. I actually think aimee looks better in the black gown. Or maybe the angle is kinda weird in the photo in her wedding gown? Are there other photos where we can see more of her gown?
But their wedding seems to be quite a private affair, so its understandable if she doesnt go all out and make 5 gown changes during the reception.

      6. Nicole,
Only four photos have surfaced from Aimee and Moses’ wedding. It’s a matter of style preference, as the black gown is more minimalist. While the wedding was small, it was done in good taste.

    2. @Jayne: I agree that her dress suits her very well and her wedding not bad.

I was just saying people commented that Moses married her b/c of the baby and that they rushed through their wedding without a plan. That’s why their hair was so goofy and messy.

  3. Very astute and deceptive planning by the couple as they threw off the paparazzi with their low profile wedding through the lack of information or disinformation during the various recent Q&A interviews causing the tabloids to speculate what the couple’s next move was.

  4. Although I’ve never been a fan of Aimee’s, I have to admit she looks beautiful and glowing in the photos. All the best to them!

  5. very very well done. It is simple and personal, and not at all cheezy (which would have been if they allow TVB to do a live telecast).

  6. Congrats to the newly weds! 🙂 Tastefully done too.

  7. All the best for both of them. It was such a nice surprise. Aimee looks beautiful. Karena & LF must be glad now that the media attention will focus on the newly wed LOL

  8. Is the wedding band not meant to be on the finger first then the engagement ring?

    1. Perhaps the photo was taken soon after the ceremony and Aimee didn’t think too switch it right away. Also, there are some women who do prefer to wear their wedding band of top… There’s really no right or wrong. 🙂

    1. oh yes he has, btw, some ppl in the world practice witchcraft.. men wearing studs on one side of the ears so women will be crazy over them

      1. huh?

Oh well, never knew he had one. I guess it makes him look younger…?

  9. I’m happy for them. The photos are beautiful 😀

  10. They appear to be posing for the camera, i see no genuine chemistry esp if u compare to Yoyo Mung & Ekin pics.

    1. Maybe Yoyo Mung and Ekin are just better at posing so that it seems like their is ‘genuine chemistry’ between them.

    2. Whether they were posing or not, genuine or not, at least their actual love for each other seems genuine and real-real enough to wed each other and dare I say start a family soon 😉

It also depends on the photograghers style and skills-some like to take candid shots of the wedding couple and create a relaxed atmosphere for the couple to be candid (which is quite fashionable these days), others ask for the couples to POSE and take a shot from there. Different style different outcome. I would know because a friend of mine is a wedding photographer and I tag along most of the times to help him out. And like Mt said, some couples are great at posing while others can really get awkward with position being rather camera shy (though I wouldnt say these two would be camera shy since they are public figures afterall lol).

  11. So happy for both of them. They made a great couple. Congratulations to Moses and Aimee! Wishing both of them a happy and loving marriage forever!

  12. Oh her wedding dress looks really pretty. Would like to see pix of whole dress.

  13. the only drawback to my parents’ “wedding” is the issue of hygiene – they rented outfits to take photos and then had lunch with friends at a popular HK restaurant – I can’t imagine a wedding being better than that – I mean, what are you going to do with that overpriced dress afterwards?

I know it’s not reasonable – but wouldn’t it be AWESOME if someone gave you a picture of a dress and a Treasury Bill in the amount of that dress’s suggested retail price or a deed to an income property condominium … DROOL.

I canNOT imagine the happiness of such a thing happening …

    DROOL!!!!!!
