  1. Best drama: Line Walker, no doubt
    Best actor: Roger Kwok
    Best actress: Charmaine Sheh
My fave male character: Raymond lam in Line Walker
My fave female character: Nancy wu in Ultimate Addiction
Best supporting actor: Benz or Louis Cheung. Both great actors!
Best supporting actress: Elena Kong, but I fear this one will go to Sharon again…..
Most improved actor: Sammy Sum. I wonder why Matt Yeung is still in this category?
Most improved actress: I think tvb will choose their sweeties: Grace or Jacqueline to have this award. Leanne actually did a great job in Black heart, most improved worthy.
No couples award? TVB should do Best kiss award too!

    1. I agree with this list but the one thing I would change (just for my preference) is My fave male character: Steven Ma. Otherwise, I think Roger, Nancy, Louis, Sammy, and Leanne Li really deserve the awards.

  2. whats the point of this list again? seems like every drama and every actor/actress is nominated.

    1. Agree, they pretty much have everyone there except for Carmen Lee of Never Dance Alone. Just wished they’ (TVB) would get it right by giving recognition to those who really shined in their roles. Heck, I’d feel insulted if I worked hard at my job , gave good results only to find that I’d be competing against a bunch of slack-offs for a much anticipated promotion.

    2. lol,so true, almost everyone who have lead in a drama this year are nominated for best actor or actress, or almost every drama that has been aired are nominated for best dramas, this is so ridiculous!

    3. yup…I see the same names repeated in every column…it’s like you don’t win this award but name is up for another one. Like what DramaAddict mentioned, Carmen should be nominated and Rachel Lee from Never Dance Alone.

    4. The nominations list is meaningless. Every Tom Diick and harry/Sue Ann Mary is in it whether they’re deserving or not. So in the end it’s still a popularity contest. Of cos eventual winner is decided by professional panel but we all know how the game is played don’t we?

    5. I agree and it feels like just a general list of most of their major series and leading as well as supporting actors and actresses. It just does not seem like a nomination list at all.

  3. Best drama: Line Walker
    Best actor: Raymond Wong
    Best actress: Charmaine Sheh
My fave male character: Raymond Lam
My fave female character: Nancy Wu
    Best supporting actor: Benz Hui
    Best supporting actress: Sharon Chan
    Most improved actor: Sammy Sum
Most improved actress: Grace Chan or Samantha Ko

  4. My thoughts on who deserves it (“should be”) and who TVB will give it to (“will be”)

    Best actor:
    Should be – Roger
Will be – Probably Roger, if not then a darkhorse like Raymond Wong

    Best actress:
    Should be – Charmaine
    Will be – Charmaine
(Linda only has herself to blame)

    Fav Male Character:
    Should be – Benz
    Will be – Raymond Lam

    Fav Female Character:
    Should be – Charmaine
    Will be – Charmaine

    Best Supporting actor:
Should be – Benz or Power Chan
Will be – Ram Chiang (but I’m ok with this, I guess)

    Best Supporting actress:
    Should be – Leanne Li
Will be – Sharon or Susanna

    Most improved actor:
    Should be – Sammy Sum
    Will be – Tony Hung

    Most improved actress:
Should be – Leanne Li or Tracy Chu. But both not nominated.
Will be – Samantha Ko (Can’t stand her)

  5. Such a lame excuse to promote their own(TVB) stars!!!At the asian level, these so called stars don’t stand a chance except for one or two really good actors/actress!!!!

  6. Did translator make a mistake? What happened to Carmen Lee for Best Actress in Never Dance alone?

      1. @Lol
Either translator made a mistake or TVB didn’t give Carmen Lee the recognition she deserves or heck, maybe Carmen didn’t want the nomination. I was curious and asked Jayne. Your comment really shows your maturity level. Grow up!

      2. Drama addict i think Lol wasn’t calling you stupid but was referring to tvb lol!

    1. @anon thanks for the clarification
@DramaAddict, I definitely was not referring to you. I was referring to TVB because I was/am disappointed with the list.

      1. Yes, anon, thanks for clarification. Lack of facial expressions and tone of voice can easily make any comment misunderstood.

  7. Best Series- Line Walker

Best Actor- Roger Kwok (if Raymond was still with TVB, I would say he would have a big chance too)

Best Actress- Charmaine Sheh (dark horse Nancy Wu since the series is still airing)

    Favorite Male Character: Raymond Lam

Favorite Female Character: Charmaine Sheh (although Selena Li’s character was very popular but Charmaine’s series is more memorable. I think Charmaine will win Best Actress so hoping someone else wins this.)

Best Supporting Actor: Raymond Cho (should be for his role as 19! Also, his relationship with other artists is so good, I think many will be casting their vote for him.)

Best Supporting Actress: Susanna Kwan (Sharon Chan probably has the biggest chance, but since tvb employees also get a vote, they may vote for her since she is more senior and her series is currently airing.)

Most Improved Actor: Louis Cheung (I would have said Sammy, but I think Louis is the best actor of those nominees. Also, he did both tv shows and variety shows so he may have more votes from both places)

    Most Improved Actress: Samantha Ko

    1. FAINT!!! Grace Chan nominated for best supporting??? Nancy, Eliza, Elena, Louise are better than her ANYTIME!

  8. Best Drama: Never Dance Alone
    BA: Roger Kwok
    BA: Charmaine Sheh
    BSA: Benz Hui
    BSA: Leanna Li
    My Fav Actor: Ruco Chan
    My Fav Actress:Nancy Wu
Most Improved: Louis Cheung, Priscilla Wong

  9. Best drama should be never dance alone!
And yes, where is Carmen lee and the rest of the cast in the list?!!!
Id vote Carmen lee for best actress too!

    1. Totally agree !!!

Best Drama = Never Dance Alone
      Best Actress = Carmen Lee

  10. Why is Carman Lee is not nominated for Best Actress of Never Dance Alone? She should be on this list at TVB Anniversary Award 2014.

  11. Roger and Charmaine are probably locked for best actor and best actress. Before the list came out, I really thought Leanne Li was a lock for Most improved!

  12. As per tradition, TVB screws up the nomination list. You’re telling me Eliza Sam is the only actress from Never Dance Alone that deserved a nomination?!?!

    1. list damn screwed up!
From Never Dance Alone, the veteran actors/actresses deserve a nomination.

      1. Most veteran actresses in “Never Dance Alone” act better than Eliza Sam, especially Carmen Lee and Loretta Lee. Unfortunately, they don’t have any contracts with TVB I guess.

  13. I actually thought tavia did well this year as bing bing in siac! But since it was aired earlier it’s already been forgotten.

But roger and Charmaine are the clear winners

  14. Best actor: Ruco Chan
    Best actress: Charmaine Sheh
My fave male character: Ruco Chan
My fave female character: Nancy Wu
    Best supporting actor: Benz Hui
    Best supporting actress: Elena Kong
    Most improved actor: Sammy Sum
    Most improved actress: Samantha Ko

  15. Most improvement actress Grace Chan n Samantha ko???? *** they just started how in the world would they get this award so fast WTH are they thinking

  16. Best suporting actor I hope Power chan get it this year he did ver well in overacheivers and besides he is a good actor !!

    1. Hope Power gets something. I’m so sick of the overhyped Benz. Pls also let someone else win BSA instead of Sharon uugh!

  17. hope charmaine will win best actress 🙂
i want michael miu to win best actor but it’s pretty much impossible 🙁

  18. Best actress: Charmaine (it would be more interesting if Linda is nominated for TC2; now it’s so obvious)
Best actor: Roger Kwok (I’d rather Wayne win than him)
Fav Female: Linda Chung (love her performance in TC 2)
Fav Male: Wayne Lai/Raymond Lam (doubt the latter one will win)
Best supporting actress: Leanni Li (don’t like anyone else on the list)
Best supporting actor: Benz Hui/Power Chan (support both but hope Power gets award a bit more since he hasn’t got one)

    1. Your Linda Chung comment is just going to get slammed/bashed in here lol. I can see it coming already lol.

      1. You mean my comment “gets slammed/bashed” by you??? I don’t see any grammar error in your comment so you should know English well. “Favorite female character” means only my favorite choice. It can be different character for anyone else. In terms of acting like the Best Actress title, please scrutinize my prediction again before making nonsense comment!!!

    2. Charmaine would deserve the award because that scene when her 3 adopted moms died is unforgettable. No offence, but Linda Chung cannot perform in TC2 because she looks like a wild cat showing her claws.

      1. I do agree with your first part of comment. I like that scene of Charmaine too. I think if you see Linda as wild cat showing her claws, she probably portrayed the role well because the synopsis described her character as a bit mental and fierce cop.

    3. U know CWY is as such a psychopath, I like it mannnnnnnnn n hating CWY as well coz CKY is stuck into d character, bravo!
Anyways, wanna c a retro renaissance on d red carpet ppl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. BA)
    raymond lam
    Best actress )
    linda chung
    Supporting actress
Nancy wu (prob will be Sharon, since she’s getting promoted crazy or Samantha ko, her bf is some CEO or someone who has power in tvb)
    Supporting actor
    Vincent Wong
    MFFC
    CHARMAINE Sheh
    MFMC
    Ruco chan
    Most improve
    Sammy sum & Samantha ko
    Best drama
    Line walker

  20. Best Drama: Black Heart White Soul
    Best Actor: Roger Kwok (郭晉安)
    Best Actress: Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼)
My Favorite Male Character: Louis Cheung (張繼聰)
My Favorite Female Character: Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼)
Best Supporting Actor: Louis Cheung (張繼聰)

  21. *** are they thinking most improved actress is Grace chan and Samamtha ko they just started un the career

  22. kinda disappointed that siu bo and leanne li isn’t on the “most improved” list.
why is matt yeung always on it? he’s been in TVB for more than 10 years, no?

  23. I haven’t watch overachiever but looks like Nancy character u guys vote as fave character? Really that loveable over Charmaine’s role? I’m thinking tvb will give both female awards to Charmaine. She will win one for sure. Just not sure if win both like kristal last year.

  24. Haha, many ignorant again. Just like last year, nobody able to predict Dayo able to get Best Actor. Before predicting who gonna win this BA, have to know how it will be judge. If follow back 50% voting by public and 50% professional judgers, then only left 2 person to win it that are Raymond lam and Roger kwok. But due to large fan base of LF, higher chance for him to grab it ^^

    1. That why people hope/predict – it is like an entertainment that people do for fun.

Why do you like to call people ignorant? Does it make you feel superior?

    2. Yeah, but there was one year that it was 100% public voting and Raymond did not win. I think more of the professional judges will end up going with Roger, since his role still has buzz and the Line Walker voters might split it up between him and Michael Miu.

      1. @LKV, i jus said some,not all.
Of course you can predict/hope. But example you predict you can become a multi-millionaire, its obvious u’re an ignorant. because you dont have critical analysis to judge urself and simply predict. duh.

@AC, that year is 2012. Obviously Raymond received the highest votes and its so dirty by tvb that time. And they never revealed the votes. Unlike last year the first time revealed everything so transparent. Do you think many youngster will vote for wayne the confidant so stupid ah?lol. Utter nonsense lor that time. But nvmla. Its past.

    3. and the professional judge is prob on rl side since he has the connection

  25. why isn’t kate nominated? 🙁 this seems like it’s just another excuse to promote their newbies lol.

  26. Best Drama: Line Walker

    Best Actor:Ruco Chan or Roger

    Best Actress: Charmaine Sheh

    My Favorite Male Character:Ruco Chan/Roger/Louis

    My Favourite Female Character: Charmaine/Nancy

    BSA: Benz/Louis/Power

    BSA: Leanne/Nancy

    Most Improved: Sammy/Matt

Most Improved: Leanne (not nominated tho)

  27. Uhm, I’m going to get flamed but I don’t think line walker is the best series of the yr… First 10mins is full of over act from Charmaine and LF, and realistically the first 10min is just stupid (if you can’t see how stupid it is….enough said lol), turn off after 10mins and have to try and look past that to finish the series. The series itself then follow rather a normal tvb path on cop show. It’s just not a bad series, but best :/ not really (I don’t feel the need to keep watching, and for me, that signal a meh series)

I would pick tomorrow is another day as better in term of concept, executions, storyline, and the realistic of it.

I know Charmaine is the fav to win BA, but her role is again normal, the same as before. As in, I don’t feel much different than what she’s usually portrait. Hence, I vote Kate lol! I do like her portrayal in TIAD.

    Now bash away lol!!!

    1. I totally agree with yr first paragraph. I also switched off midway through the first ep cos too much saccharine overload from Charmaine trying to act cute. That scene about her mom getting ogled and her subsequent “revenge” on that lecher took up several mins and was totally unnecessary. Then the way she talked to her moms like they were 3 year olds was so very exaggerated. IRL no one talks to their seniors like a bunch of kids unless they’re already senile which these 3 moms don’t look like it. Tried cherry-picking episodes but never managed to sit through the whole episodes. The ending needless to say was stup1d. Oh and those slo-mo scenes look so terribly cheesy, trying to copycat John Woo but ended up looking cheeap.

      1. I agree with you guys about LW. LW was good for the suspense about the undercovers and black cops, but there were also unnecessary boring parts (ie. the whole Yan-Kobe line). If you talk about best thriller, I vote Storm in a Cocoon. The mystery in SIC was way better laid out than LW. Ruse of Engagement had a good plot as well. Too bad everyone already forgot about those because they aired too early.

For me, the best series ranking is
        1. Never Dance Alone
        2. Storm in a Cocooon
        3. Black Heart White Soul
        4. Line Walker
        5. Ruse of Engagement

      2. Just wondering what makes a post go under moderation? Is it certain words? Because I don’t think some of my posts are offensive and they go under moderation, but others with more of criticizing go through just fine.

      3. miriamfanz
It happened to mine too. I think it is to do with certain words even if your post is not offending.

One of my posts was under moderation, and it was removed later. A day or two after, my post appeared again on that particular topic. Very strange then.

    3. I agree, but Line Walker is probably the most talked about series and it might have a movie sequel so I can’t see how it’s not going to win. lol

I don’t think this series was Charmaine’s best acting, but I don’t think any of the other nominees really stand a chance either since no one is really being hyped as her competition. The only dark horse possibility now is Nancy Wu since her series is still airing, people like her pairing with Raymond/Power, and the series is getting more exciting.

      1. Competition for the Best actress this year is weak. I much prefer Tavia but as LW is the much hyped drama this year and is still fresh in viewers’ minds compared to SIAC which aired early in first quarter, Charmaine has an unfair advantage. This is never a fair game anyways.

      2. Oh, come on. TVB never expected Line Walker to be such a success too. If so, they would have placed it as their anniversary series. Are you sure the game is fair to Line Walker too? Anyway, Tavia was just super annoying in her role as Bingbing and I never thought she deserved the BA award for 2012 anyway.
I wouldn’t say Line Walker is flawless as a drama, but it has been so long since TVB produced a drama like this that caused so much suspense and topic. Period.

      3. Doesn’t matter if LW was designated as anniversary series or not. It was aired close enough to the year end awards of Starhub, Astro and TVB itself to be still fresh in viewers’ minds. That gives it added advantage over the designated anniversary series as viewers are just warming up to those. But as I said the competition for Best Actress this yr is weak allowing Charmaine to walk all over them, not that she was particularly outstanding, tbh I find her acting to be exaggerated. In fact, the leads and second leads of LW are all riding on the hype of the drama.

      4. Agree. LW has more budget than average TVB series for its explosion scenes and promotion despite not an anniversary series, but it still airs during a good timeslot where the younger viewers are in a school and university break, same timeslot as TITS2 the grandest production of 2013. If conpare to ROE which airs mich earlier, LW has too many advantages. That didn’t stop the good job from Charmaine, Benz, MM and Elena.

      5. Talking about weak competition in TV Queen race, nothing can be compared to 2011 and 2012 where Myolie and Tavia won. Those two years marked the beginning of ‘TVB giving to the person because it is their year, and not because of their performance.’ Not that I didn’t like Myolie, just that I don’t think she deserved the award for that role.

  28. I feel Josie is def worthy of winning for BSA but that’s going to be unlikely. Wrong choice for Nancy to be nominated for GL instead of OA, she has more chance with the latter role. BA is def going to Roger and Charmaine. Most improved most likely Sammy and Samantha. I hope Louis wins for BSA and either LW or TIAD for best series..maybe BHWS too.

Btw I’m surprised Him jumped over the most improved and BSA category and straight for BA.

  29. Best Drama: Line Walker

    Best Actor: Ruco Chan
    Best Actress: Charmaine Sheh
    Favourite Male Character: Michael Miu
    Favourite Female Character: Nancy Wu
    B.Supporting Actor: Benz Hui
    B.Supporting Actress: Eliza Sam
    Most Improved: Sammy
    Most Improved: Jacqueline Wong

  30. Agree!!! Support Kate for BA, she did an amazing job in TIAD 🙂

  31. Really no Carmen Lee? I’m dissapointed by her exclusion in the list of best actress nominee. Also, out of so many others, they chose to Eliza Sam for best supporting actress? This is clearly to promote her/attract younger audience.

  32. No Carmen Lee among Best Actess nominees? Such utter blasphemy.

  33. Carmen Lee is robbed of her place in the nomination because TVB wants to promote their own actresses. Any one of Carmen, Rachel or Flora could kick out quite a few of those nominated for Best Actress. I am very disappointed with the list.

  34. No matter who you envisioned will win, TVB executives already have the winners from each category selected. It is like your Santa wish list, get one or maybe two and not the rest and leave you to wonder why you did not get the rest.

  35. Nominations for Grace Chan & Jacqueline Wong already?

this is their first debut year, how do we know their acting and performance have been improved?

    1. Good point 5fadans! Just proves tvb gives awards to whoever it wants and Grace is the IT girl of the moment.

  36. For best actress, they should kick out Priscilla Wong & Ivana Wong & Maggie Shiu.

Priscilla Wong & Ivana Wong are not up to this level yet. They should be replaced by Carmen Lee and Rachael.

Maggie Shiu in the current drama is just a supporting role and should be replaced by Susanna Kwan

    1. I like Maggie Shiu whereas Priscilla and Ivana should not be in the list. Maggie is talented but lack opportunity. She is way much better than both of them. Probably, they should be replaced by Carmen and Flora.

  37. I think Carmen Lee and Rachel Lee acting was more better than name of those actress listed by TVB,anyone agree ?,why TVB not nominated them?
This 2 acting skill much better than Charmaine Sheh,Katie Tsui,Linda Chung.

    1. TVB’s internal political game + cheap way to promote their contract artistes.
Charmaine is not bad, but honestly Carmen is 100% on par with if not better than Charmaine.

  38. What is Grace Chan doing in the best supporting actress category?

  39. umm… i would choose best actor:Roger Kwok Best actress:Charmaine Sheh My fave male actor:Ruco Chan My fave female actor:Nancy Wu best supporting actor:Benzi Hui Best supporting actress:Sharon Chan Most improved actor:Sammy Sung most improved actress:Grace Chan

  40. One questions, who take TVB awards seriously.. these awards are not based on quality.. just who will sign the longer contract or whos contract is about to expire soon..and needs to get renewed..

  41. My predictions:
    Best drama: Line Walker
    Best actor: Roger Kwok
    Best actress: Linda Chung
    Fave male character: Raymond Lam
    Fave female character: Charmine Sheh
    Best supporting actor: Ram Chiang
    Best supporting actress: Eliza Sam
    Most improved actor: Sammy Shum
    Most improved actress: Priscilla Wong

    My votes:
    Best drama: M Club
Best actor: Steven Ma (I am biased. I know he won’t win though)
Best actress: Kate Tsui (bias again as i didn’t even watch her series).
    Fave male character: Raymond Lam
    Fave female character: Charmine
Best supporting actor: Ram Chiang (I wish this would allow multiple winners as there are too many actors I like).
    Best supporting actress: Elena Kong
    Most improved actor: Louis Cheung
Most improved actress: Lin Xia Wei

    1. Hmm, there’s also a category for best themesong. Well, I voted for the M Club themesong since that’s the one I can only remember at the moment.

  42. I’m surprised that many of you (non-Hongkies) like Carmen Lee. I think she’s better than most TVB actresses too. TVB lacks famous actresses under 30 and over 39. It’s just too limited.

    1. Sorry, I have to re-word this. I know some 50-60+ years old actresses are famous like Liza Wang and Michelle Yim. However, what I mean is famous 40ish leading actresses who don’t need to play parents roles of 20+ adults or “Grandmas”. The only one I can think of is Joey Meng. Eleng Kong is only a supporting actress.

      1. I guess it’s because we grew up watching the likes of Esther Kwan, Flora Chan, Jessica Hsuan, Ada Choi, Maggie Shiu etc. Still remember Carmen as Little Dragon Girl in 1995 as well hehe

    2. I actually never watched her other dramas before; only heard about her role in The Return of the Condor Heroes (because I didn’t grow up in that era). But after watching Mclub, I feel that she is absolutely deserving of Best Actress.

  43. while i do feel that young ones deserve a chance to be promoted, those just 1-3 years in the industry should not be nominated for ‘best supporting’ yet…at most put them under ‘most improved’ category.
i am not a hong konger…but i feel carmen and Rachel did a great job in M club.

  44. The best drama nomination is ALL the drama shown this year. What a JOKE!!!
