Fala Chen Joins Cast of “Godzilla vs. Kong” Sequel

Choosing not to renew her contract with TVB in 2014, actress Fala Chen (陳法拉) chose to enrol in the famed Juilliard School in New York instead for a four-year Masters of Fine Arts course to polish her craft. With appearances in various Hollywood productions, she was notably part of the history-making Asian-led cast of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and won praise for her turn as Shang Chi’s mom. There’s more good news yet, as the forty-year-old Asian actress is reportedly joining the cast of the follow-up to 2021 sci-fi adventure Godzilla vs. Kong!

Having grossed over $460 million at worldwide box offices in 2021 despite the pandemic and its simultaneous release on HBO Max, the film did remarkably well. Cast performers Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle will be reprising their roles in the next as-yet-untitled Monsterverse entry, while Fala is joining as a key supporting cast.

Filming on location in Queensland, Australia, the Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures movie is set for a 2024 release and will see the two colossal giants – Kong and Godzilla teaming up against “a colossal undiscovered threat” after they slugged it out in the 2021 epic.
