Jay Chou (周杰倫) is bringing his 2013 Opus Jay World Tour <周杰倫魔天倫世界巡迴演唱會> concert to Hong Kong this September, and tickets are already sold out. The concert tour, supporting his latest album Opus 12 <12新作>, has already received rave reviews in Beijing, Shanghai, and Singapore. Jay will perform five shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum from September 13 to 17. Ticket pre-sales for his Hong Kong concert began on today, and all 20,000 advance tickets were sold within the first two hours!

Jay has been busy with work this year in addition to preparing for the world tour. Next month, Jay will compete in Taiwan’s 24th Golden Melody Awards, vying for the titles of Best Mandarin Album, Best Mandarin Male Singer, and Best Producer. When asked about being nominated for Best Mandarin Album along with former love Jolin Tsai (蔡依林), Jay showed his competitive nature. “I want the award for Best Mandarin Album the most. [Jolin] can take Best Female Singer instead!”

Following the awards, Jay will focus on promoting his upcoming film The Rooftop <天台>The Rooftop is Jay’s second directorial effort in which he also served as actor and producer. The multi-talented singer will attend the film’s premiere on July 18, and will hold a press conference to share more details about his Hong Kong concert, including the special guests.

When reporters mentioned his busy schedule, Jay admits that he is under tremendous pressure from his heavy work load. He also shared his unusual de-stress method — by giving haircuts to crew members. In past interviews, Jay had expressed the desire to have children by age 35. Currently 34 years old, Jay feels regret as he has yet to accomplish this life goal. “My classmates already have several kids. I am only a godfather, not a father. I hope my home will become more lively soon. I hope to have enough [children] to make a full basketball team!”

Overrated or not, he is one of the very few in Chinese Pop who performs with original materials. The other are Lee Hom Wang and the band MayDay.

Guys, he can play the piano and likes hip-hop. He composes and plays his own songs. What the hell else do you want?

Are you really OK with some fat, round-faced, pubic-hair for head-hair guy who’s………Jacky Cheung’s protege (wow that was painful to type) to sing another Japanese song cover or a lame orchestral backed ballad?

whatever it is, you don’t have to diss another to prove how good your god-idol is. In any case, 28 shows worth of people think it is OK so you know what, keep your mouth shut.
