Aaron Kwok Gets Stuck in the Middle of a Protest

It’s been over five months since the protests of Hong Kong, and there’s nothing that’s going to slow them down. On September 8th, the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Meeting organized a walk, making top headlines. Though the protests ended at around 4:30 p.m., a portion of protestors still remained in the streets of Causeway Bay, affecting traffic and pedestrian flow.

Aaron Kwok (郭富城) was one of the pedestrians.

Driving his blue Lambo, Aaron attempted to drive through the remaining crowd but got stuck. Many protestors and passersby recognized the singer-actor and tried to get photos. Some protestors even shouted, “Thank you for the support, Aaron Kwok!” That attracted even more attention.

Facing the protestors and reporters, Aaron had no choice but to make a response. He lowered his car window and said, “I’m on my way to buy diapers.” Reporters tried to get Aaron’s opinion on the protests, and also asked whether or not he was afraid that his car would get scratched. Aaron said, “I really need to go buy diapers for my daughter.” He then refused to answer more questions and tried to maneuver through the crowd.”

  1. Will look bad for his career if his presence there is viewed as supporting the cause. No wonder he used nappy buying as a excuse….LOL.

    1. @hohliu yea, that excuse is rather fishy :p doesn’t HK have home delivery, I can’t imagine someone as rich as Aaron don’t just shop online or have maids to do this sort of chore lol.

  2. Online/home delivery is more readily available in HK/China than in the West. Moreover, he could’ve just asked his maids to buy them instead of risking his personal safety and risk getting his exotic car scratched for a box of diapers. I call BS on this one!

Time for China to consider blacklisting him. LOL jk

    1. @anon
Yeh..even celebrities earning a few thousand times less than Aaron have assistants to help them attend to small asks such as pay bills, purchase products etr. Celebrities usually spend their rare free time to maximise earning efficiency rather than waste it on these normal everyday activities…

  3. Let’s say we believe Aaron had to buy diapers himself b/c Sunday was the day off for his domestic helpers, and he couldn’t get home delivery at short notice. Still — near where he lives (the address was shown here on Jayne’s when he registered his marriage) there are plenty of places to buy diapers, no need to drive into Causeway Bay.

We are Jayne’s detective squad! Anyway, protesters are claiming Aaron as one of them, with photos of him holding up one hand being interpreted as him saying “five demands.”

I can’t believe he would risk his career in the Mainland or risk offending his wife and her family by supporting the protesters, but the whole thing is fishy.

    1. @tshwgal I think he just happened to pass through there. The diaper story is a ruse, but he wasn’t there to support the protests. He just so happened to be there.

  4. Now this is funny! And a testament to his natural beauty, look how good he looks! Hope he got the diapers though isn’t that a job for his assistants? Surely he wasn’t there to support the protestors?
