Annie Liu Picks Steven Ma as TV King

With the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards to be held on December 16, TVB released its official nomination list last week. The list is controversial, as some noteworthy artistes such as Steven Ma (馬浚偉) were not nominated. Attending an event yesterday, Annie Liu (劉心悠) vouched for Steven and said he is her pick for TV King.

Working together in Deep in the Realm of Conscience <宮心計2深宮計>, Annie said she was impressed by Steven’s dedication. “In my mind, he already won the Best Actor award. We filmed in April and May so I saw him every single day. He’s a really hardworking person – I love him.”

On not being nominated for any awards either, Annie said she had a good experience working with TVB and this was her first time having to film a production non-stop. Despite the slight challenge with Cantonese, she is very thankful to have been given this opportunity and the experience itself is rewarding enough.

With Christmas a few weeks away, Annie was asked if anyone has asked her out on any dates. She said that she is gathering with friends on Christmas Eve. Asked if there is a possibility of meeting someone at the party, Annie said, “People who are attending are my close friends, we’ve known each other for a long time. Right now, I’m not really interested in meeting any new ones.” Asked if there is possibility of developing a relationship with close friends, she said, “I don’t really know what’s going to happen tomorrow. Some things just aren’t meant to be!”

Although she is single now, Annie admitted that she had previously cooked for her ex-boyfriend despite not being a very good chef. Making salmon at the time, Annie said she overcooked the fish but remembered that it still tasted decent.

Errr…..Christmas is about celebrating with family and means a lot to the children. The reporter or the whole of Asia must be mistaken. ‘Valentines day’ is for couples!!!!

It’s incorrect though. If you watch a Christmas movie, it’s always about family. For Asians to celebrate everything for couples is insulting because we work hard before gathering with family for a warm Christmas here in the west….
