Steven Ma Asks Linda Chung to Speak Up and Not Be Afraid

Steven Ma (馬浚偉) is known for his dedication to work and sincerity towards other people. Given Steven’s time in the industry, he developed a great friendship with three of his female co-stars, and he is like a big brother to Fala Chen (陳法拉), Tavia Yeung (楊怡), and Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣). Out of his three “younger sisters,” he worried most about Linda.

“I never needed to worry about Fala or Tavia, because they are so strong-minded and capable of taking care of themselves. Linda is someone I worry most about because she needs to be cared for, since she doesn’t really know how to take care of herself,” Steven said.

The pair developed a close friendship akin to siblings after starring in five TVB dramas together. When Linda returned to Hong Kong to film Kids’ Lives Matter <星空下的仁醫> earlier, she took the opportunity to catch up with good friends such as Steven and filmed for his program Coffee, You and Me 2 <緣來自咖啡2>. Later, she invited him to appear on her YouTube program, Linda Chung, Just for You.

Steven Stands Up for Linda

“I met Linda in 2004, and I was able to see her growth in the industry. I think it is a very special relationship that is close like family, and cannot be explained. When I see that she is feeling aggrieved, I try my best to help her,” Steven said. If he sees that she remains silent in an unjust situation or get bullied, he “encourages her to speak up and not be afraid.”

However, Steven is surprised but comforted to see that Linda has matured and become stronger since becoming a mother. He can now relax knowing she can stand up for herself.

Cherishing their friendship, Linda admires “Steven’s kind and righteous personality.” She also feels relaxed she can let go of her “crazy self” in his presence. “I have been in the industry for over 10 years, and I thank God for the most wonderful gift of maintaining such a great relationship with my industry brother.”

  1. Steven Ma really knows how to cultivate relationships with women. I think that’s amazing and so hard to come by in showbiz. And all of the women he’s friends with or have developed close relationships to, are all thriving and doing well individually.
