Bernice Liu Confirms Dating Businessman, Calvin Lo
After breaking up with businessman Alastair Lam (林忠豪) due to media pressure, Bernice Liu (廖碧兒) has since kept her dating life away from the public eye. For the first time in years, the 39-year-old actress publicly confirmed her relationship status. While attending a commercial press conference, she admitted to dating 40-year-old CEO, Calvin Lo (盧啟賢) for the past several months. The couple met while doing charity work.
Once revealed, the relationship has been wrought with negative speculations. Calvin was once married and has a daughter with his ex-wife. Calvin was reportedly already in a relationship with a Thai woman named Nina, whom he broke up with after meeting Bernice. Did Bernice unknowingly become a third party? “No. From what I know, he was single. I don’t want to affect him. He is not in this industry after all. I’m very happy right now. He has one daughter. I’ve met her and we get along okay.”
Already 39 years old, is Bernice hoping to have children with Calvin? She responded, “I hope everyone will give me some time and space. If I have any good news, I will share with everyone.”
Recently, Bernice shared a photo of a ring on her social media, sending fans into a frenzy about whether she is engaged. When asked about the rumor and whether the couple is headed towards marriage, Bernice responded, “No, the ring is mine. Personally, I have always taken my relationships very seriously. I hope everyone will give us more time to get to know each other.”
On what attracted Bernice to Calvin, she praised, “He is a good person and very attentive. We both like animals too.” Since breaking up with Alastair, it seems that Bernice has not dated for many years. She clarified, “Don’t say that it’s been many years. I’ve met people in between all this time, but you have to get to know someone before seeing if you are compatible.”

@cutie777 I honestly hope that the media will leave Bernice alone now that she has admitted to the relationship. After all the “hell” they put her through since the split with Moses many years ago, it’s obvious Bernice has been trying to stay away from the limelight as much as she can in recent years so they should just let her be. Obviously she’s happy and it’s not like she is doing anything wrong – sure, some people will still probably call her a gold-digger due to the guy being rich but that’s just people being ignorant and irrational (and probably people who never liked her anyway)…I mean, she’s been away from the limelight for so long, how do they know if she’s dated other guys who weren’t rich during that period of time? I’m not a fan, but I’m happy for her and also hope it works out this time!

Honestly tired of the media labeling her a gold digger when she’s worked hard to get where she is today. Learned Chinese (Canto and Mandarin), has 7 dogs of her own, started a wine business, etc. So what if she dates someone with money? It is not the only quality. If she dated a poor man, you would say he is “eating soft rice,” so the media will never be satisfied b/c their goal is to cause trouble. Frankly, if this is what being a gold digger is all about, I want to be labeled one too.
And she hasn’t had THAT many failed relationships. She’s had 3 confirmed relationships since joining the industry and had a boyfriend before winning the pageant. And relationships are about two people getting together, so don’t treat that news like she should be the one ashamed.

I really don’t think Bernice is a gold digger. She is a hugely ambitious woman who has a strong interest in business which is why people who share common interests are very likely to be businessmen. She isn’t like one of those uneducated girls who are aiming well above their level of trying to grab a rich bachelor. Some members of the ‘Nonsense Club’ might be in this category….
@jimmyszeto Exactly. There are a ton of gold diggers (some hidden) in the entertainment industry, yet they mislabel a hardworking entertainer. Bernice SHOULD be with a rich man – she’s successful herself. The media just chooses to hate on certain celebrities (I can’t recall who but there’s someone else that they’re constantly attacking and will call her rude or w/e when she isn’t. Just because they don’t like her).
