Chang Chen and Wife Welcome Baby Girl

Happily married for more than a year, Taiwanese actor Chang Chen (張震) and his Japanese translator wife Ann Zhuang (莊雯如) welcomed the arrival of their daughter.

Chang Chen’s exuberance at being a father was evident from his Weibo post, in which he shared a picture of his daughter’s tiny footprint and captioned it, “Let us welcome the new member of my family!”

Ann also shared photographs of the newborn girl on her Facebook. The photographs revealed that the baby girl has a high nose bridge and rosebud lips, earning netizens’ praise for how pretty she looks.

Chang Chen and Ann dated for four years before finally tying the knot in November 2013. News of Ann’s pregnancy broke out in October last year and speculation was rife that it would be a baby girl. Attempting to play a prank on his fans, Chang Chen had first uploaded a picture of his daughter’s footprint shaded in blue without revealing the gender of the baby. He eventually revealed that he had a daughter and also shared his thoughts on being a father, “It’s an incredible feeling! I am so happy! Both mother and daughter are healthy, thank you very much for everyone’s concern!”

Many of Chang Chen’s showbiz friends responded with congratulations and well wishes for the couple. Shu Qi (舒淇), one of Chang Chen’s past rumored love interests and now his good friend, commented humorously on the photograph of his daughter’s footprint, “What big feet!”
