Chilam Cheung to Win TV King at 2013 TVB Anniversary Awards
Chilam Cheung (張智霖) will be the next TV King, according to inside sources at TVB. Management executives met in a three-hour meeting to decide on the winners list earlier. Due to Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II> receiving the highest ratings year-to-date, TVB will go with popular opinion and give the Best Actor award to Chilam. Although he is not a TVB-managed artist, Chilam confirmed that he will film another drama with the station next year.
Kenneth Ma is Sacrificed
Kenneth Ma (馬國明) was originally a hot contender in the TV King race. Although Kenneth was voted Best Actor at the TVB Anniversary Gala last month by peers, he now stands a slim chance at the official Anniversary Awards on December 16.
With Kenneth’s obedient personality and strong work ethics, TVB considered pushing him to TV King status this year. However, The Hippocratic Crush 2’s <On Call 36小時II> ratings and feedback has been mediocre, and Kenneth failed to generate the same buzz as last year during the first installment’s broadcast.
Furthermore, Kenneth had just renewed a seven-year contract with TVB. With Kenneth locked in for the next few years, TVB does not feel the urgency to give him the award immediately.
Chilam Cheung Drops $500,000 HKD Event to Attend Anniversary Awards
Chilam’s Most Popular Actor win at the TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013, which was determined by popular vote, was seen as a precursor to the outcome of the TVB Anniversary Awards.
In order to attend the TVB Anniversary Awards, Chilam declined to participate in a mainland event despite a $500,000 HKD appearance fee. Chilam’s management agent, Stephen Shiu, Jr. (蕭定一) admitted that Chilam turned down the lucrative event to accommodate the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards.
“Cool Mort was a role that TVB gave Chilam, allowing him to have such a successful year. He should repay TVB,” said Stephen Shiu, Jr. “Although we rejected [a lucrative job], Chilam still has a lot of work to do. We’ll try our best to accommodate. We’ll have to see what TVB does?”
An insider stated, “If TVB gave Chilam the pork award, ‘The Most Popular Male Character Award,’ he would rather not get it. When the TV King is announced and it turns out that Chilam did not win, he doesn’t know what kind of expression to give the zooming cameras. He knows that winning TV king will boost his commercial value, tripling and quadrupling his fees in China. No one will complain about having too much money!”
When asked about his attendance at the Anniversary Awards, Chilam said, “I’ll see what my company arranges for me. But I’ll be happy if another artist receives the award!”
Linda Chung to Win TV Queen
Although Brother’s Keeper <巨輪> was not an Anniversary series, it received even more positive feedback than The Hippocratic Crush 2 <On Call II> and Will Power <法外風雲>. The TV Queen title is largely in Linda Chung’s (鍾嘉欣) hands, with Kristal Tin (田蕊妮) posing little threat despite her stronger acting.
Leading dramas since her 2004 debut in Virtues of Harmony II <皆大歡喜>, Linda’s healthy image made her well loved among fans. She also won the Most Popular Actress award at the TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013, indicating her popularity. TVB executive, Catherine Tsang (曾勵珍), openly praised Linda’s acting in Brother’s Keeper and promised to vote for Linda as TV Queen.
To increase the excitement of the Anniversary Awards ceremony, Linda allegedly suggested that she will reveal her relationship with boyfriend of six years, Philip Ng (伍允龍). Although the couple has been low-profile in their romance, Linda’s open acknowledgement of Philip as her boyfriend would put a stop to their frequent breakup rumors.
Ron Ng to Win Best Supporting Actor

Elena Kong to Receive Best Supporting Actress
Known for her solid performances in Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles <名媛望族> and Triumph in the Skies 2, Elena Kong’s (江美儀) acting will finally be acknowledged by TVB. Elena is rumored to win the Best Supporting Actress at the Anniversary Awards.
Most Improved Actress Fight Between Priscilla Wong and Eliza Sam
Producer Sandy Yu (余詠珊) is known to heavily favor Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) and has openly campaigned for Priscilla to win the Most Improved Artist Award. However, other management executives prefer Eliza Sam (岑麗香), whose charismatic personality has won a wide following. Eliza is also well-liked by advertisers and her commercial fees are on the rise.
The Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Drama awards will be determined by public votes and a professional judging panel. The Favorite Male Character and Favorite Female Character winners will be selected by public votes. RON NG can’t act period. He’s always had this scruffy look. Edwin Siu is more than deserving. RUCO CHAN FOR BEST ACTOR. CHILAM CHEUNG, honestly as much as I love him, he won viewers with his suave character and looks.
Chilam was good in the first half of “TITS 2”, but his character was poorly written and short-lived in the 2nd half of the drama series.
Sandcherry you are 100% correct. I fathomed him as well in the beginning, but towards the end he just turned into a complete jerk, trying to home-wreck and fall into his own hypocrisy. Not to mention stalker status. Pathetic. Shame shame shame on TVB.

i agree the most favourite award suit him more,but as you know tvb is biased as Always and throw their political and commercial value to determine which is the best for them.to me i think chilam only deserves the ba award because he already served tvb for more than 20 years and have portrayed some memorable characters through the years.

That’s right. As much as how Chilam is a prince charming that is loved by majority viewers, he is never a brilliant actor. He is still miles away behind superb Francis Ng and I’m sorry to say that Chilam’s acting is not even comparable to Wayne Lai in Will Power.

Edwin is nominated for 4 categories, I feel like TVB would want to give him something.
Ron did okay in “TITS 2” in a very likable character. His acting was not amazing vs. many other supporting actors’ in other drama series this year.
Ron may not be the best in acting but his character and the way he goes about it makes him one of the top 2 reasons to watch this series. He practically made this draggy drab into something worth watching and I credit Ron Ng for that.
I think Ron did a good job in TITS2. It wasn’t sophisticated acting but he just seemed natural and gave Issac the character an unique demeanor.

If TVB does not have any urgency to promote Kenneth Ma since he renewed his contract last year for 7 years, why does TVB have an urgency to give TV Queen to Linda who also renewed her contract last year for another 8 years. It is rather contradictory.
Because her pretty face will slowly decline and TVB can’t use her to promote their fail-agenda of conquering Hong Kong. Make up can only hide so much, and her talent can only bring her so far. If she sucks now, she probably will continue down the line unless she makes some major changes.
I really don’t like the idea of recruiting or asking an artiste to stay by giving him/her some kind of awards, or there is no rush to award an artiste if he/she has already renewed a long-term contract recently.
Awards should be given to an artiste showing his/her best in that category.

I don’t think Linda should win tv queen.Her acting in BK is so bad.There are still more actress that deserve the award more than her such as Tavia,Kristal,Joey or even Esther…
Unfortunately, Tavia didn’t perform so well this year. A lot of her dramas were flops and didn’t really allow her to use her abilities to the fullest.
Not really. Tavia did really well in On Call 2, Friendly Fire & A Great Way To Care 2 this year. She alwiz deliver a solid performance.
The main prob with On Call 2 comes from the rotten script & minimal screening time of hers.
She performed well this year. She has the most solid performance among the top 5 fadans (Fala, Linda, Myolie, Kate)
Actually, Tavia did amazing in the scenes where she lost the baby at the beginning of OC2. Due to limited screentime, Kenneth and Tavia weren’t able to develop their characters. I support Tavia/Kristal to win BA- Linda was terrible in BK.
Tavia did pretty good in all her dramas, despite OC2 not receiving high ratings, Kenneth and Tavia still delivered a solid performance, just way too little screen time (Eliza and Tracy probably get 50% of the screen time, the rest is divided between the other main characters =.=)
I’d rather they give it to Tavia again, she had a breakthrough role in A Great Way to Care 2, so I don’t see any wrong giving it to her again while Linda has a similar role that she’s been acting since her debut. Even Myolie has a better performance than her. My vote goes to Tavia
Actually i think you should re-word it. Her dramas didn’t perform well BUT her acting and performance has been well praised and the roles she took were different from her usual roles. Out of all the fadans, i think the characters she played had a lot of variety – shows she’s quite a versatile actress.

I would rather have Tavia win the award for A Great Way To Care 2 if it’s for THC2 then forget it….but we know she will be nominated for the latter series.
I agree- I thought her performance in AGWTC2 was topnotch. Her acting in OC2 is excellent too, but because it is a sequel, not much of a breakthrough performance. Compared to the perforamnces delivered by the other fadans, imo Tavia takes the win by far. AS for this year, I think the BA should go to Kristal if it really has to be a competition between Linda and her. But tbb would give it to Linda regardless of viewers disagreement and outrage…it’s what tbb does best- ignore public’s opinions and carry on with their politics.

But are these results truly ‘leaks’ though? Because remember that Next Media has been ‘banned’ by TVB (this article came from Sudden Weekly, which is under the Next Media umbrella), so unless TVB employees are going against the ‘ban’ and talking to Next Media’s reporters behind TVB’s back, it could very well be that once again, the tabloids are making up stories based on bits and pieces of info they’ve been able to pick up here and there (the tabloids are ‘experts’ at this kind of stuff).
Personally, I would read this stuff with a grain of salt because at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what the tabloids say…we’ll find out the day of the awards who actually got what…

I’m on the fence regarding Linda’s rumoured win because BK didn’t even perform that well in ratings. Unlike TITS2 which is backed by its high ratings. And I think Chilam’s win looks solid because I can’t imagine him showing up for only My Favourite Actor.
disappointing if these are the true results. yes it’s Linda’s turn but this year is NOT HER YEAR! i do like her, hopefully she do well next year, the medicine drama is her best chance. rooting for Esther or Joey for best actress but sigh, almost impossible…

I was really really surprised that Sheren Tang was able to get TV Queen awards in both 2009 (“Rosy Business”) and 2010 (No Regrets”) as per TVB’s pattern of giving out awards.
……… and Sheren Tang was only on a per-series contract in those years.
@sandcherry: No, not surprising actually, especially the 2009 win. TVB HAD to give it to Sheren, since, in most audience’s opinion, they had already ‘robbed’ her of the award twice before (in 2004 for WAB and in 2006 for LFD). Also, there were threats of audiences boycotting TVB as well as fans waiting outside TVB City threatening to protest if Sheren didn’t get the award. As much as they may not have wanted to, TVB HAD to cave in to public pressure in that instance — not for the artists’ sakes, but rather to salvage their own image (plus it made for some good PR). Basically, both Sheren and Wayne’s wins in 2009 were hard fought battles that they ‘won’ primarily due to tremendous audience backing (and, in the case of Wayne, backing from his colleagues as well).
linda oh no. not this year pls. think she will get a higher chance next year seeing all her upcoming dramas are not bad. if this year she gets, it definitely won’t be as deserved as next year tho I know there will be many nice dramas. – my opinion – malaysia voting was basically based on popularity and abit of acting.
If Chilam really wins Best Actor, I will be very disappointed. I never doubted his acting, but the character of Cool Mort demands not nearly as much acting as many other characters would. If he wins with Cho Gor Gor then I cannot complain. But Cool Mort, seriously?

I also like Chilam very much, but his character, Captain Cool, was not well-written in “TITS 2”. He acted well in the first half of the drama series, but quite badly in the second half. As a result, he couldn’t excel in Captain Cool’s role.
I only watched tits2 and started on Bounty Lady this year so I can’t say much about other BA candidates. But one Francis Ng is more than enough to outcompete Chilam.
I know Chilam is good but Cool Mort really is not the character to land him on BA.
You are right. Francis Ng’s (Captain Tong) character is well written in “TITS 2” and very heavy. Francis’ acting will not be inferior than Chilam’s.
Well, it is entirely TVB’s choice of TV King or TV Queen ………. depending on the value that they will get from the artistes in exchange of the awards.
I wouldn’t say Chilam acted entirely bad in the second half of the series but his character was just terribly written near the climax of the film and made him some pathetic depressed guy which didn’t even make any sense what so ever.But like most of their scripts they tend to doze off near the end of the series they usually start off quite well but hardly does the same for the second half of the series it’s as if the rush through it.
I did not mean that Chilam did badly in the 2nd half of the series, but not impressive at all vs. the 1st half.
Maybe try to think that Chilam is winning based on Cho Gor Gor? LOL. To be honest, I find Cho Gor Gor so much outstanding that Bobby during that year when Bobby won the TV King, I really wanted him to win that year but oh well
@RW: As much as I love Bobby, I do have to agree with you. Chilam’s best chance at winning TV King was with Chor Gor Gor back in 2000 — and if he HAD won, it most likely wouldn’t have been disputed. I don’t know about you guys, but to me, Chor Gor Gor was Chilam’s best performance to date as well as the most ‘representative’ role of his career — his Cool Mort actually pales in comparisons.
Back then, Chilam was hyped up to win the TV King award, to the point that the Media was saying he already had it in the bag (which turned out not to be the case obviously). Same thing is happening now for his role in TITS 2….will history repeat itself?? It will be interesting to see what happens on 12/16.
@llwy12 I agreed with what you said too. Bobby is great but his performance in Witness to a Prosecution was not as outstanding as Chilam’s , though I like the drama. Chilam hardly films for TVB maybe that’s why. Cho Gor Gor was brilliant, I was so sad when he didn’t win.
Cool Mort stands out this year because there isn’t any hit drama except for TITS2, everybody around me was watching it even though they rarely watch hong kong dramas. And his suave personality is definitely fun to watch plus with that handsome face, its hard not to fall for him. Though in the second half of the drama he was so badly written.
If he’s attending the ceremony, TVB will most likely give it to him (I see it as a compensation to his Cho Gor Gor in 2000 LOL) TVB won’t ask Chilam to sit there for the whole night without any award. If he’s not attending, it’s hard to guess. His acting is good so I won’t mind him winning but Captain Cool is definitely not his best performance. Some said it’s a playboy role is very easy but imagine if Francis and Chilam exchange role, it’d so so funny wo watch Francis as a playboy haha.
You guys have all good points here. Personally, I think this kind of award is always relative. TITS2 has a good year in comparison to the other series so the chances are Chilam to win the TV King is quite high. But you never know, the history might repeat, he might go home empty handed. Oh well, I’ll be very happy if either Chilam or Francis wins as they are so well deserved it.
i liked chilam in The Shades of Truth and Point of no Return as well.
@Jeannie: That’s true — it’s all relative, so things could definitely go either way. At least back in 2000, Chilam was one of the ‘big’ winners in that he got 2 out of the 3 awards he was nominated for (though he didn’t get the ‘grand’ prize of TV King)…this year, it’s hard to say what might happen — he might get the ‘consolation prize’ (favorite character) again or he might not get anything at all….we’ll have to wait and see….
@idontknow: I did too – actually, I liked most of the series that Chilam has been in and the roles he’s portrayed (including the ones you listed plus Cold Blood Warm Heart, Remembrance, Take My Word For It, etc.). But when it comes to ‘best performance of his career’ / ‘award-worthy performance’, I would definitely pick Chor Gor Gor from Return of the Cuckoo….in my opinion, none of Chilam’s performances before or after have been able to surpass that particular performance.
@idontknow: Me too, I really enjoyed watching Chilam in The Shades of Truth and the first 1/2 of Point of no Return. He was so hilarious! I was quite surprised that Chilam was able to pull of the comedic roles neatly like that.

I can understand why they choose to give it to Chilam in return for him to film another series for TVB next year and Kenneth just signed another 7 year contract.
I can’t understand though why TVB wants to give TV Queen award to Linda Chung this year due to her bland acting in “Brother’s Keeper”. She also renewed her contract last year for another 8 years and there is no urgency to promote her. Moreover, she was outshone by Kristal Tin in “Brother’s Keeper”.

@Jenny: Actually, not really…to me, the ‘safe’ choice means giving it to someone whose ‘win’ wouldn’t be disputed by majority audiences…therefore, the ‘safe’ choice would be to give it to the likes of Ada or Esther for example, both of whom are prior TV Queens and are proven talented actresses, plus both did well in their respective series and also both have good affinity with audiences. IMO, giving it to Linda would actually fall under the ‘risky’ category because she’s not TV Queen material yet and her acting has mostly been mediocre (in other words, she’s not a ‘proven’ lead actress yet).
I personally feel that at this point, it’s still hard to say who has the best chance at the award because it all depends upon what TVB’s intentions are in the coming year — if their priority is going to be to ‘clean up their image’ and try to win back overall positive sentiment for their productions and company as a whole, then it’s possible they might choose to go the ‘safe’ route rather than risk getting even more backlash and negativity from the masses. If not, then they could very well go the ‘risky’ route.
what judges and ppl look to BA awards are how good the drama ( high ratings ) , how good the actor act , are they likeable by audience ( popularity ). even if the actor did well in the drama but the drama doesnt received good feedbacks, the award wont be given to him/her.
I don’t think any of the artistes that participated in the Triumph In The Skies sequel deserve an award for their characters. Francis is a phenomenal actor but his character was pretty much useless in the sequel sorry to say but he spent half of the time mourning over Zoe’s death and his character became insignificant to the actual pilot line rather just the love line along with most of the characters and romance genre series is not really BA worthy. The only relationship that was worth watching was Him & Nancy’s line….the rest dragged on through unnecessary love triangles.
I don’t understand how anyone nor Linda herself thinks that her performance is BA worthy, the only BA worthy role she had was in A Journey Called Life but sadly that role was underrated. She have a better chance in TC2, so far from the trailer it does look more promising than that other series with Ruco.
For Best Actor, I just don’t think Chilam and Kenneth should win it for the roles they’re being nominated for. I would of thought Moses had a higher chance since I heard good things about his performance in WP. The awards are getting more and more rigged every year, performance is definitely not a key factor for them winning an award as long as the nominees are well liked off screen and generate some sort of noise positive or negative they’ll get an award.
I feel like the ones who did well and deserves an award hardly generate any noise or feedback from their performances, there are quite a few who did extremely well but went unnoticed. Public voting doesn’t help either because fans will only vote those they favor even if their performances are bad.

I wouldn’t consider Ruco underrated this year since his performance was noticed by lots of people but there are some that did just as well but got nothing out of it.
@bobby I meant tt he was not mentioned by the press or tvb despite a lot of people talking abt his performance. Bk got a lot of good feedback but this wasnt picked up by the press either.

Indeed, Francis Ng spent half the time mourning over Zoe’s death. But he mourned so well. In fact, those were the best scenes for me in TITS. I dont think anyone else in TVB can pull off 23 episodes of mourning without making the character less attractive. Anyway, Francis Ng is irrelevant in this whole tv king discussion. We know he’s beyond that.
@moonriver: Totally agree with you! Francis was pretty much the only reason I even bothered with TITS2 and he definitely didn’t disappoint. I actually was not fond of the Sam/Zoe pairing in the first installment (in fact, I didn’t even like the original series overall), but I was captivated by Sam and Zoe’s relationship in the sequel and I give majority of the credit to Francis and his fine acting. Those mourning scenes were absolutely well-acted, to the point that after Sam finally got over Zoe and started on with his life, I felt that the rest of the series wasn’t worth watching anymore.
I also agree that Francis is irrelevant in the discussion because he’s already way beyond TV King level…plus he’s not even planning on attending the awards show, so that already means he has no chance whatsoever.
definitely on your side!! frankly, if it wasn’t because of Francis, I wouldn’t have cared to watch TITS2!! and like you said he’s way beyond this discussion..but it would be great to see him win the BA award..

This remark is so un fair to KM. The series is not doing well has nothing to do with his acting, my opinion as the script is written so badly and compare this installment as compared to the first one, there’s lesser screen time for him &Tavia to shine and with the increase of the un necessary story line of Eliza and so obvious that they’re trying too hard to promote the newbies eg Tracy
This is so unfair, in my opinion as to sacrifice KM to promote Chilam, whether or not KM deserve the award is beside the story. Don’t feel that Chilam is so outstanding either.
TBB is taking advantage of the ever obedient Kenneth as they know he’ll never leave. I think its about time he to be a man and start to expand himself to the China markets. What’s the point to stay loyal when no one appreciate it and being a sacrifice goat.

Or maybe if the award goes to Chilam, then they could influence Anita Yuen to film a drama for them, since we all know that TBB will do anything in their means to maintain and retain the viewership esp whrn now world richest man’s son going to venture into the industry.

The latest news is that HKTV Ricky Wong had a meeting with ATV major shareholder Wong Ching recently (december 2013), most likely talking about buying out ATV. So there is hope that all the HKTV programs can be seen on ATV.

kevin in 2006 was audience least favourite till today people are complaining because it wasnt a favourite but remember best actor isnt about being the favourite… kevin won in 2006 based on being the bestt actors skills and based on tvb judgement
I stand back and look at how tvb awards have evolved over the decade…what is the purpose of handing out the awards now and doing such a ceremony? In the end, it’s like the company is doing their own show for itself to applaud and be ‘proud’ over.

Hopefully best actress can just go to Kristal. Linda have better chance next year. The part saying Linda will announce her relationship I already find this article not trustworthy. So just treat it as make up news just to promote the show. Although I remember Myolie announce her relationship when she won her BA award. I still don’t know why she did that.

Too bad for Francis who’s supposed to be the lead in TITS2 but had the limelight stolen from right under his nose. He might as well not be in TIT2 cos his presence is almost insignificant. I catch episodes of TITS2 here and there and honestly, Francis’ role and acting is nothing spectacular either.

It’s all business. TVB wants a cut of Chilam’s success, and Chilam wants to pay back for the opportunity. As for TV Queen, TVB gonna award the money-making actress.

Out of interest, I tried to search for Sudden Weekly’s corresponding article last year in which they leaked/claimed/predicted who would win last year’s awards. Apparently, last year Sudden Weekly claimed that Raymond Lam would win Favourite Male, Kate Tsui would win Favourite Female, and Elena Kong and Power Chan would win Best Supporting.
Of these four categories, they only got one (Kate Tsui) correct.

im mad too that LF didnt get the tv king last year and kate tsui for tv queen. their highs and low was a breakthrough for them. but the drama didnt get into the top 3.and again wayne lai is good at acting just not a breakthrough but he is already a good actor.
I like Chilam because he is very passion as TV Star. But I don’t know if he’ll be the next TV King. I’ll not assume it. We’ll see at the awards show.

If tvb let Linda get tv queen, then the award title should change to the most obedient actresse, her acting is really really poor, she can’t even surpass kristal in acting, how is she tv queen quality. If most favorite by fans, she should get most favorite actress not tv queen. These 2 awards are very different. Linda really doesn’t deserve tv queen
I agree with you even I know Linda is a very very very good lady. how her acting???? well, she has a lot of fans too…so let them be happy la….TVB award is meaningless anyway…it give to whoever TVB decided to promote next year and give to whoever can help TVB make more money…only a few time it is given to someone who deserved it based on acting!
Tvb, especially this year, is just putting a show for themselves, with no fair results. They have redefined tv queen/king titles, into who is the most obedient and popular, and not based on acting anymore. Sorry, but none of these apply to tv queen/king quality. The only meaning behind the best male/female awards now is the effect they’ll have on the pocketbook of the winners as they greatly increase their fees in China.
Otherwise, they hold little meaning anymore.
No clear or convincing frontrunners this year, it seems. December 16 will be interesting.
I don’t think Linda is a bad actress, but until she can play a role that’s different from her usual, “goody-good” character, then I don’t think she deserves BA yet.
Pretty sure anyone can make these same predictions.
TVB has bad judgement on everything, especially selecting who’s the next TV King or Queen, like come on, how is Linda a tv queen? Her acting is still bad, and her role in Brothers Keeper was not a breakthrough for her, it was Kristal that that stole the limelight and outshines her. Joey, Esther, Kristal, Ada, or even Tavia surpasses Linda in acting. Those actresses deserves TV Queen more than her.

It doesn’t matter who TVB will give the TV King or Queen award to, they still get criticized by the public anyway as each artist has his/her own fan base to support him/her. TVB will never win…So might as well stick with their own games.

NOOOO…Chilam Cheung and Linda Chung for Best Actor and Actress is exactly what I’m predicting. But MY PREFERENCE would be Francis Ng and Kristal Tin!
Now I predict Favourite Character would be given to Kenneth and Kristal, as the consolation prize. I think Kristal deserves both Favourite Character and Best Actress, but too bad TVB would favour Linda Chung. My preference for Male Favourite Character would be Dayo Wong though…Kenneth already won that award last year.
For Supporting Actress, I prefer Nancy’s performance as Coco, although Elena Kong is not bad and should be recognized. I think Benz Hui should get Supporting Actor, but chances are slim.
For Most Improved, although Eliza Sam is not that great, I prefer her over the other nominees. Totally against giving it to Priscilla Wong.
Best Series, I would choose Brother’s Keeper, but I also really like Bounty Lady. However, it’s most likely gonna be TITS2…

No offense, but Chilam acting in TITSII was nothing special. His acting skill is just the level of any other TV King contender. It’s so ridiculous. I think it’s wiser to give it to Francis Ng if they’re gonna choose their TV King based on the popularity of the drama.

LOL most people are saying Linda’s acting is not as good as the contenders but she will get the Best Actress award coz of all those other factors. Basically a political winner not so much as a ‘deserving’ winner.
She may have improved from being a bad actress to an alright actress but that doesn’t mean she’s a GREAT actress.
And improvement shouldn’t equate to getting Best Actress. Everyone improves so what. They should make an award for ‘Most Improved lead actress’…. maybe she can fight it out with Kate Tsui…. they’re both still in their ‘improving’ stages.
Genuine Best Actresses don’t need people to say ‘their acting has improved’ coz their acting because their acting has been established and they’re already top of the game.
Please include Fala. 3 of them can compete for Most Need to Be Improved Leading Actress Award.
