Coffee Lam’s Mother Cries Over Restroom Sex Scandal
TVB actress Coffee Lam (林芊妤) virtually destroyed her career after her public restroom sex scandal with 31-year-old heir Will Lam (林知譽). Although she apologized for her inappropriate behavior, Coffee continued to face public criticism. Worried that the negativity will affect Coffee’s personal life and career, Coffee’s mother could not help but tear up in the aftermath of the scandal.
Since the incident broke out, Coffee has been allegedly crying at a friend’s house and has not been able to face her parents due to shame. On the other hand, Will immediately left Hong Kong for Hangzhou to avoid the paparazzi.
Coffee’s only response was through WhatsApp – pleading to the paparazzi and asking them to not bother her family members. However, those pleas fell on deaf ears – reporters quickly paid a visit to the video game store owned by Coffee’s parents.
When asked to speak about Coffee’s indecency, Coffee’s mother immediately defended her daughter’s honor, vehemently stating that she was innocent. While crying at the same time, Coffee’s mother said, “This is her personal life, why go after her? Why write about this to such an extreme extent?”
Although the reports have pointed at Coffee for possibly being a gold digger due to Will being the heir to a $900 million HKD company, it may not be entirely true. Coming from a rather humble family, Coffee’s parents, elder brother, nephew, and niece live together in a small public house. Besides relying on the video game store income, Coffee is the primary income provider. Even when she underwent cervical cancer surgery last year, she resumed filming My Bounty Lady <My盛Lady> after a short break to prevent delays in production.
Since Coffee was never a major star at TVB, there is a possibility that the company will cut her jobs. Already announcing that Coffee has to take responsibility for her own actions, TVB executive Virginia Lok (樂易玲) disclosed that the upper management team will make a decision soon regarding Coffee’s scandal. Luckily, Coffee maintained good relationships with people in the industry. Some of her friends and colleagues recommended jobs in Beijing for Coffee to secure additional income.

Wow that would suck if she gets cut from TVB. I think everyone makes mistake in life. It sucks when you make a mistake as an artist since it stays with you forever (ex. Gillian Chung). I have to admit in some pictures when she is slim, she looks really attractive.
Getting cut from tvb is possibly that best thing that could happen to her since she doesn’t have major roles. Before this, not sure if tvb has anything big planned for her too.

LMAO I agree with most of your comments except that part about having sex in a public space. It’s not a stupidly conservative issue. You can’t just go bang anyone in an enclosed space with a door. It’s a public restroom, where you KNOW people are going to be around, maybe even kids. She can go have a healthy sex life because that’s totally normal and completely okay with me. That’s just part of being an adult.
However, being an adult also means you don’t make stupid decisions, and that includes having sex in a public restroom. When did public sex ever become okay? So by that extension, does that mean if someone manages with to get one of those private study rooms in library then he/she can use the space for sex?

It really sucks how judgmental the HK media, audience, and TVB can be. Pretty sure Coffee is aware of the aftermath if the media found out, but decided to do it anyway.
