Gillian Chung’s Wedding to Be Held in Los Angeles in May

After getting engaged in January, Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) and Taiwanese gynecologist Michael Lai (賴弘國) have been balancing busy work schedules while finalizing details for their wedding . The couple will allegedly hold their wedding in Los Angeles on May 25, and follow up with a banquet in Hong Kong.

Gillian decided to hold the wedding in Los Angeles because of the good weather and atmosphere. Also, Gillian and Charlene Choi will be holding their Twins concert in Los Angeles on May 19, so Gillian can stay and have the wedding a few days later.

Although Gillian and Michael’s parents had met earlier to discuss wedding planning, their parents gave them complete freedom to plan all the details. The couple decided to have an intimate wedding inviting 100 guests. Just paying for the guests’ airfare and hotel will cost the couple over a million (HKD) dollars.

Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍), Joey Yung (容祖兒), and Laurinda Ho (何超蓮) will be the bridesmaids. Other guests invited to the wedding include Yumiko Cheng (鄭希怡), Rainie Yang (楊丞琳), Mike He (賀軍翔), and Twins manager Mani Fok (霍汶希).

A larger-sized wedding banquet in Hong Kong will follow. Gillian’s boss, EEG founder Albert Yeung (楊受成), promised earlier that he will pay for the Hong Kong banquet since he regarded Gillian as a daughter after working together for 18 years.

After getting married, Michael will relocate to Hong Kong for his work. However, when the couple has children, Gillian may enlist Michael’s parents for help in raising their children.

Gillian will continue working after marriage. With her new drama, Tree in a River <動物系戀人>, being a big hit, many scripts, advertisements, and variety shows are waiting for Gillian to sign on. She will take a short break after getting married before returning back to work.
