Griselda Yeung Regrets Not Being a Better Sister to Tavia Yeung
Though they are sisters, there could not be wider financial disparity between Griselda Yeung (楊卓娜) Tavia Yeung (楊怡). As the older sister, Griselda feels pressured when her acting career is compared to Tavia, who has won multiple Best Actress awards for her acting accomplishments. Griselda is still stuck playing supporting roles for and fails to have a breakthrough. Though Griselda wishes to do more as the older daughter to support the family, she regrets the burden has fallen on Tavia for many years.
Recently, TVB released an interview clip of the two sisters which was filmed in 2012 when Tavia won TVB Best Actress. In the emotional video, Griselda shared her regrets with Tavia, “For so many years, Tavia has been the pillar holding up the family. No matter how big or small the problem is, we would always depend on her. This is my greatest regret. I know she has no complaints, but I am the big sister.”
Griselda was aware of her own dismal career, but she was proud of Tavia. “She has made a lot of accomplishments, so she grew stronger. She felt that she needed to support her family. Right now, your sister does not have this ability. I can only take care of myself. Sometimes I will complain about myself, and I feel very useless. Sometimes, I don’t have the ability to take care of my mother and [Tavia] will do it instead. I am very grateful to her.” The dilemma made her feel guilty and depressed, and even filled Griselda’s mind with suicidal thoughts.
Joining the Entertainment Industry Together
When the sisters were young, their father passed away and they grew up watching their mother taking odd jobs to support the family. In order to lessen their mother’s burden, the sisters decided to join the entertainment industry – Tavia enrolled in TVB’s acting school in 1999 after graduating from high school, and Griselda competed for Miss Hong Kong 2001.
While the sisters initially played extras roles in dramas, Tavia slowly achieved one breakthrough after another by winning the Most Improved Actress in 2003’s Vigilante Force <飛躍進步女藝員>, Best Supporting Actress in 2008’s Moonlight Resonance <溏心風暴之家好月圓>, and Best Actress in 2012’s Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles <名媛望族>.
On the other hand, Griselda was still playing supporting roles and often typecast to playing widow roles. Encouraged by Kara Wai (惠英紅), Griselda eased out of depressed and started working hard to build her career in recent years. Receiving praise for her supporting role in Can’t Buy Me Love <公主嫁到>, her recognition levels continued to increase after Be Home for Dinner <誰家灶頭無煙火> and Love Come Home <愛回家>. No longer deterred by the obstacles in her slow career growth, Griselda aims to continue to act for many more years.

@sherla1019 @abcd I think Griselda is pretty as well. But Tavia has had plastic surgery done. So not surprising that her daughter may look more like her sister or her former self.
I know something done on Tavia face dont think its PS more like injected her face with derma fillers and botox she look good when she was in Heart of Greed then her looks started to change afterwards dont know why ppl that looks good still intend to do that to there own face …..sigh……

I actually think Griselda is prettier than Tavia.
I never thought of the older sister as pretty but yes to Tavia. TY did seem to change a bit over the years not sure if due to age, ps or just whatever else in between. I always thought she looked quite pretty & cute before and still is for being 40.
Both are wonderful actresses. I actually find Griselda… Or Lenna (didn’t she change her English name?) Prettier than Tavia. She’s got that classy timeless look about her.

I think they’re both pretty and above average. It’s sad that Griselda didn’t get the same opportunities as Tavia. Frankly I found both of them gorgeous when they were younger. They’re still great looking mamas.
tavia has a great acting skill, but I think her older sister is prettier than her. Especially, Tavia looks like she has a lot of botox done on her face. It looks stiff. Her sister has more of natural looking

I want to see Griselda in a villain role. She can produce really good b*tch face (not an insult LOL) and I really want to see her exploring more character roles in dramas.
