Horror Drama “Our Unwinding Ethos” to Air July 15

Although TVB has produced few horror dramas in recent years, fans of the genre will be excited as Our Unwinding Ethos <十二傳說> will finally premiere next Monday, July 15.

Starring Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Rosina Lam (林夏薇), Jonathan Cheung (張頴康), Moon Lau (劉佩玥), and Jazz Lam (林子善), the 25-episode series will focus on urban legends and mysterious cases about ghosts and spirits. Edwin plays a news reporter who investigates and tries to solve the difficult cases.

The drama even borrows ideas from TVB’s own urban legends. Over the years, some parts of the studio have been rumored to be haunted by ghosts – including the most famous one about the haunted woman’s washroom. Another haunted location was rumored to be the male break room in one of the recording studios. Rosina revealed that her cousin, Raymond Lam (林峯), had personally felt very odd in the break room.

Edwin also disclosed that Bobby Au Yeung (歐陽震華) once told him about a scary situation in the break room. Edwin said, “You know how we sometimes film late into the night – Bobby once told me that when he was sleeping in the male break room, he heard a little kid trying to wake him up. Apparently, the kid was saying ‘Hey, get up, it’s time to film’. When Bobby woke up and returned to the set, the production crew asked how he knew it was his turn already. When Bobby told them that a little boy woke him up, the production crew told him there was no little boy on the filming set at all.”

Attempting to lighten up the mood after telling the story, Edwin laughed and said perhaps Bobby had too much charisma and was able to charm many different types of fans.
