Hu Ge and Gwei Lun-mei’s “The Wild Goose Lake” Drops New Posters

Directed by Diao Yinan (刁亦男), The Wild Goose Lake <南方车站的聚会> is the most anticipated critics’ choice of the year. Starring Hu Ge (胡歌), Gwei Mei-lun (桂纶镁), Liao Fan (廖凡), Wan Qian (万茜), and Qi Dao (奇道), Diao Yinan brings Chinese noir and social realism back into the big screen, and much like his 2014 film Black Coal, Thin Ice <白日焰火>, it apepars that Diao may have another critical success in his hands.

The Wild Goose Lake is a crime thriller set in Wuhan and tells the story of a mid-tier gangster who finds himself in the brink of going back behind bars after a triad meeting had gone sour. Wuhan, strategically centered between many lakes, become important locations throughout the story.

The film is selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. It wil be released in China on December 6, 2019.
