Is Katy Kung Leaving TVB?
Katy Kung (龔嘉欣) is rumored to be leaving TVB after winning Best Actress for her role in Big Biz Duel <企業強人>. The actress was also dropped from the cast of Radiant City <璀璨之城>, which added to speculations that Katy’s days at TVB may be numbered.
In addition to not having filmed any dramas for eight consecutive months, her work contact information on social media has changed from listing her manager to simply saying “DM” (direct message). She has also updated her profile picture. However, on the official TVB website, her name still appears under the category of managed contract actresses, although her Best Actress award has not been updated in the awards section.
Katy’s good friend Grace Chan (陳凱琳) was recently asked at an event whether Katy has left TVB and she did not give a direct answer, only saying that she was unsure about Katy’s contract status with the company.
At a promotional appearance last week, Katy confirmed she was no longer part of the cast for Joe Chen’s (陳維冠)Radiant City, but hoped to work again with the producer due to their frequent collaborations in the past.
