Max Cheung’s Love for Wife Extends to His Stepdaughter

The 40 year-old actor treats his stepdaughter from his wife’s previous marriage as his own.

TVB program “1+1+1” invited actor Max Cheung (張達倫) and his wife Kimmy as guests to share their parenting experience. Kimmy is the classmate of Max’s brother and the two knew each other since they were students. She has a daughter named Chloe from her previous marriage. Years later, romantic sparks flew between the two when they met up again.

”She is Max Cheung’s Wife”

Treating Kimmy’s daughter as his own, Max revealed his thoughts on the program, “I (will) treat her as my own daughter forever. How can I be qualified to love this woman if I don’t accept her (daughter)?” From his firm stance, one can feel the unreserved love he has for his wife.

During the interview, Max also showed his attentiveness towards Kimmy through both speech and actions, straightening her shirt collar for the interview and proclaiming that “She is Max Cheung’s wife,” When asked when was the last time he felt that she was beautiful, Max replied, “Two or three days ago when I woke up in bed, I thought, ‘She’s really gorgeous.’” Instead of extravagant speech or promises, Max makes his wife feel loved with simple but loving gestures.

Consciously Reminds Himself to Make Wife Feel Loved

Sharing details about his marriage proposal, Max revealed that he had chosen two songs by Andy Hui (許志安): “With Love, Flaws Find a Soulmate” <愛情令缺點有了知音> and “Doing My Best to Learn to Be a man” <我盡力學習成為男人>, hoping to convey his feelings and promises through the touching lyrics. The ceremony was made even more heartwarming when Max sang spontaneously to serenade her.

Tying the knot in 2016, the couple welcomed their son. Max admitted that with the baby’s arrival, he had been guilty of neglecting his wife and forgetting to show appreciation for her as he focused on the little one. Now, he would remind himself regularly to show more care towards Kimmy. Hearing her husband’s touching words on the program, Kimmy was moved to tears, prompting Max to dab her tears sweetly.

Max Cheung’s memorable roles include Come Home Love <愛·回家> and more recently The Learning Curve of a Warlord <大帥哥>.
