Miss Hong Kong 2019 Contestants Train Intensively for Upcoming Pageant

With the Miss Hong Kong 2019 pageant underway, the 15 contestants went to Macau to film a special documenting the contestants’ training journey. With a tight schedule, the media caught up with the contestants to learn about their experience.

Tight Schedules and Intensive Training

As usual, the contestants’ schedules are packed with training and filming. For the most part, the contestants are adjusted well to the tight schedule. Many of the contestants such as Wong Fei (王菲) and Carmaney Santiago (黃嘉雯) share that they are enjoying the experience and have learned a lot.

With celebrity guests such as Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), Raymond Cho (曹永廉) and Raymond Wong (黃浩然) in close proximity, the contestants are thankful for the actors’ advice and making the atmosphere less stressful.

When Carmeney was asked about being advised by Wayne to speak with more eloquence, she responded, “I am still inexperienced. I get nervous when I meet the seniors and I rarely get the chance to practice speaking. I will practice harder. Earlier, the drama teacher taught us to read more newspapers to practice speaking more eloquently.”

Wong Fei shared, “[There were] no arguments. When we are in a hurry, they would tell me to move faster so we can go home early to rest.”

Keeping Good Figures

As many contestants wish to present their best image in front of the public, they are already setting out plans to maintain their figures. Carmaney shares her method of keeping fit, “I will pay attention to my diet and go to the gym. Although I am thin, I hope I can get more muscle. I don’t want to look like a stick.”

Similarly for Katy Yeung (楊詠彤), who is known for her long legs, shares that she will be careful with her diet and will do more exercise to achieve a toned figure. When compared to other contestants, Katy reveals that she doesn’t feel like her upper body is lacking and that it is more important to be well-rounded.

Nicole Yiu (姚羽嘉) garnered the most attention due to her voluptuous figure.  When asked which part of her body she is most unsatisfied with, she laughed and replied that all girls want to be skinny and will work hard to lose weight.

No girl would want to stand next to or even near the girl on the right. That’s a huge difference in figure compare to all the other girls in the photo.

the girl in next too her is not too bad in comparison. i think height is probably worst any most obvious than anything. you don’t want to be the big dip.

@m0m0 ya, that girl is already ok for Chinese figure. But standing next to that top of the class figure makes that girl next to her look Asian.
