Niki Chow Loses Money from Investments, but Wins Happiness in Return

As Niki Chow (周勵淇) has been in the entertainment industry for 17 years, it is surprising that she suddenly decided to change her Chinese name from 周麗淇 to 周勵淇. Niki claims it was not for luck purposes, but to influence her friends and family to be supportive of each other. In this stage of her life, she really values happiness, support, and positivity.

In a recent interview, Niki was questioned about her love life in which she responded, “I’m really happy with my life right now and my family isn’t rushing me into marriage. Occasionally, there is the pressure when I am constantly being asked because I don’t know how to answer. But I will just leave it to faith to find me my Mr. Right. When that happens, I’ll make sure to share the news with everyone.”

In the beginning of her career, Niki was interested in investments and stocks in hopes of planning and securing her future. Unfortunately, losing money from these investments made her realize that these things can’t be forced. She is very grateful that she had these obstacles in her life because she was able to grow and learn from her mistakes. Now that she has secured a stable income from acting, she only does small investments for fun and as a treat. She even joked, “I should have listened to my mom and invested in ‘bricks’ instead because real estate is definitely the most secure.”

Niki’s popularity in Mainland China surged after 2014’s The Virtuous Queen of Han <衛子夫>, but she believes that TVB is where she feels most at home. With success in many of her dramas including the new series Another Era <再創世紀>, Niki is grateful for all her given opportunities, which included dance lessons and dancing in Prague for the series. She even joked, “When I filmed that scene, someone actually gave me money! I don’t know if it was because I actually danced well, or they just pitied me?”
