Raymond Lam Denies Filming “Luk Siu Fung”

Rumors of Raymond Lam (林峯) leaving TVB have pushed TVB senior executives into action by offering strong support for his upcoming January concert and granting him the JSG Most Popular Male Singer award. If Raymond has been annoyed with the media reports of his alleged intention to leave TVB, he should not be anymore. Regardless if the reports were true, Raymond has only benefited from the rumors thus far. First, his fans have pledged their loyalty to him. And now, TVB senior executives seem to be paying him extra attention.

Executives Giving Their Moral Support

Several days ago, Raymond was in the dance studio rehearsing for his January concert when TVB top executives paid him a surprise visit. TVB executives, Peter Au (區偉林) and Virginia Lok (樂易玲), together with EEG executive, Ng Yu (吳雨) visited Raymond after their meeting . When asked if they have come to appease Raymond, Peter Au joked, “Of course not! In actual fact, we have come to scare Raymond!” And then he added more seriously, “Actually we care for every one of our artists. I think Raymond’s dancing is good. If I have the time, I will definitely go to his concert.”

Raymond said, “I know the company cares for me and we have a tacit understanding. Anyway, as I said before – where Ms. Lok goes, I will go.”

Denies Filming “Luk Siu Fung”

With Raymond winning the JSG Most Popular Male Singer Award, his music career is off to a roaring start in 2013. To boost his acting career in mainland China further, TVB had reportedly helped Raymond clinch the leading role in a 30-episode remake of Luk Siu Fung <陆小凤>.  Tabloids reported that Raymond secured 500,000 RMB per episode, which made him TVB’s highest paid actor to-date, beating 2012 winner, Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) who only took home 350,000 RMB for each episode of Ip Man <葉問>. Though there were reports that claimed Kevin is in the midst of talks to increase his pay to 500,000 RMB for each episode of Ip Man 2, the deal is not yet finalized.

When asked to confirm if he was indeed earning 500,000 RMB per episode in China, Raymond replied, “The fee of each artist is a commercial secret. There were many errors in the tabloid reports that surfaced.” He also declined to compare himself with Kevin Cheng’s commercial value.

Raymond further clarified that although he was aware that a remake of Luk Siu Fung is in the works, he has not been contacted by anyone regarding the wuxia television drama. He was surprised himself when news reports linked him to the project.

    1. LF, please concentrate on movie and music career. Music, movie & tv combo are to hefty for you!!Don’t be greedy

  1. support and love Raymond…surely hope He has bright career in Mainland…

  2. This pic make RL with his over sized glasses look like Wong Cho Lam’s brother…

    1. I don’t see it. But LF would be the good looking one while WCL would be the ugly brother f/ another mother.

  3. 《SINA MUSIC樂壇民意指數頒獎禮》上贏得3個大獎,包括「我最喜愛全國男歌手」、「最高收視MV大獎」及「最高收聽率二十大歌曲」/….Congratulation to Raymond!!!

    1. BTW, since we are on this, can someone explain to me what is the Sina Awards? I saw ppl like Eason, Hins Cheung, Kay Tse etc attending and even with this LF grabs the Favourite Male Singer Award? Is it anything to do with TVB? Who are the voters?

  4. Raymond Lam is King of Chok & always “electricity” everyone… no wonder top management all been “electrify” to visit this handsome man..

  5. I have no idea where say he dun get this series deal. Where do you get this? From the news I saw he only say he dun know about price and nowhere say he dun know about the series.

    1. Read Hinews and I blv its the only place with such info? So weird. The others dun have a mention. Maybe the reporter misunderstood him.

    2. Fox,
In the second article link cited above, Raymond was quoted as saying:

      我系有听过《陆小凤》这剧。自己也莫名其妙为何这样传,因至今仍未有人接触我

      1. Yup and in the first one of Orietal Sunday it makes like he is very excited with the new series.

Hinews is the only source I see the quote like he denies, others dun have this so its kinda weird.

Because some places translate your news here and it stirs a war in fans hence I want to make sure as well as avoid more misunderstandings. From wat I have seen, I think the deal is his, but Txb’s involvement Im not sure. I guess he means “dont know” in his words refer to Txb get the deal for him but Hinews reporter misunderstood him.

      2. After checking, look like Hinews didn’t interview him but use info from other sources to make news, therefore there might be some misunderstandings to his words. Alrite.

    3. Anyway, it will be clear whether he will indeed be filming “Luk Siu Fung” after January or not.

      1. I would rather he play another character than LXF since that character has been played by others way too many times already…

  6. LOL Of course TVB would come flocking back to Raymond now. After Wayne’s 3 reign as King, they’re pretty much done with him. They are afraid of losing Raymond, and it’s not good either since the network is losing appeal. I like Raymond a lot, but I’m gonna be blunt here. Raymond Lam won’t be TV King this year, again. The competition is simply way too stiff, and he’s barely appearing in anything this year. TVB better pull some shady moves or they lose another familiar face in their studio.

    1. They have been desperate for a long time now so it is nothing new at all..

      1. I mean desperate to the point where theyre boasting about landing deals for raymond? I think tvb needs to revamp its entire management system…it doesnt appear that a single individual who is part of running the company even passed business management 101.

  7. don’t think Raymond looks very nice in “Luk Siu Fung”!!! Raymond…think twice….but support you anyway…
Like other fans said….might be just focus on music and movie is good enough…because we want to see you outstand performance!!! LOVE you
