Star-studded Cast Leads “The Remarried Empress”

Slated for an exclusive premier on Disney+, The Remarried Empress will bring the hit 2018 webtoon which has been translated into over 10 languages to life, with a super cast featuring Shin Min-ah, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk and Lee Se-young.
Empress’s World Is Turned Upside Down
Navier (Shin Min-ah), the universally beloved empress of the Eastern Empire is content to live out the rest of her days – until one day her husband Sovieshu (Ju Ji-hoon) – her childhood friend and confidant, brings home a mistress and demands a divorce. In a shocking twist, Shin Min-a choose not to plead, but requests to remarry a prince from a rival kingdom, shaking the empire to its core.
Lee Jong-suk plays Prince Heinrey of the Western Kingdom, the crown prince and a mysterious figure often surrounded by rumors. Though he approaches Navier with hidden motives at first, he gradually finds himself genuinely drawn to her. Lee Se-young takes on the role of Rashta, a beautiful runaway slave, saved by the emperor during a royal hunt. Upon learning his identity, she begins to crave the life she never dared dream of. The actress is expected to portray Rashta with intricate detail, revealing the desires and ambitions that grow behind her character’s innocent smile.
Park Hosan plays Rashta’s former master — Lotarshu, a cruel, cold-blooded man who holds a dangerous secret about her that must never reach the emperor. His appearance at a critical moment will raise the tension of the story.
Directed by Jo Soo-won, known for hits like I Can Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, and Still 17, with the screenplay is co-written by Ye Ji-na (The Uncanny Counter) and Hyun Chong-ryul (Citizen of a Kind), The Remarried Empress is set for a 2026 release.
