Tang Wei Announces Pregnancy

More happy news is coming along the way! Chinese actress Tang Wei (湯唯) has announced that she’s expecting her first child with her husband of two years, South Korean director Kim Tae-yong (金泰勇).

Tang Wei’s agency, Hong Kong’s Edko Films, announced the good news on Weibo on February 26. The post said, “To all dear friends, Tae Yong and Tang Tang have got good news for the new year. [They’re] waiting for the arrival of a naughty little monkey!”

The 36-year-old actress gave the same announcement on her own social media account, saying, “Two people in 2015, three people in 2016. Our little monkey, welcome! Mama loves you!” Attached to the post was an ink drawing of a monkey, which was done by Tang Wei’s own father. He signed it, “Monkey’s Grandfather.”

Tang Wei and Kim Tae-yong met in 2009, while Kim Tae-yong was directing the film Late Autumn <晚秋>, which starred Tang Wei. The couple officially tied the knot on July 12, 2014 in Fårö, Sweden.
