Vivian Hsu (徐若瑄) has been in the industry for nearly 30 years, but the Taiwanese pop goddess still hasn’t looked a day past 30. With a three year old son, netizens have been begging the 44-year-old to tell them secrets on how to cheat age and get fit.
But Vivian said the secrets to her diet have always been out there—it just takes a matter of discipline for it to work. Vivian is not a naturally skinny person, and she only managed to lose her post-pregnancy weight after changing her diet and lifestyle. The trick, she said, is to control your portions and never eat to a full stomach.
In 2017, Vivian publicized her a fitness challenge on Facebook. The challenge was to lose 3 kg (6.6 lbs) in just 18 days. Her meal plan comprised of a balanced diet of meats and vegetables. Breakfast consisted of boiled eggs with steamed pumpkin and sweet potatoes. For lunch and dinner, she ate vegetables and some protein.
“It’s important to get in all your nutrients when you’re dieting,” she said. “You want to look energized! I eat a fuller meal for breakfast because that sets the tone for the rest of the day. During the day I’ll eat some carbs, but only the good ones like sweet potatoes (bread, noodles, and white rice are out of the question).”
The diet plan does not allow one to consume snacks and drinks with empty calories, including juices. Fruits are acceptable, but only those with low sugar.
Vivian shared images of all her meals on Facebook, and urged fans to do the challenge with her.
