“Xuan Yuan Sword 3’s” Jiang Jingfu and Gulnazar Become Hot Newcomers

After appearing in periodic fantasy drama, Xuan Yuan Sword 3: Scar in the Sky <轩辕剑之天之痕>, Jiang Jingfu (蒋劲夫) and Gulnazar (古力娜扎) have become the hottest newcomers in mainland China this year! Jiang Jingfu’s role of the suave, optimistic heroic fighter captivates many women’s hearts, even stealing the limelight from lead actor, Hu Ge (胡歌)! The dazzling fairy-like goddess, Gulnazar, also mesmerized and charmed many young men. Jingfu and Gulnazar’s popularity skyrocketed, with the two young stars even outshining their costars!

Hunan TV’s Xuan Yuan Sword 3, adapted from the Chinese RPG game, has been breaking mainland China’s TV ratings record since its broadcast earlier this month. The drama stars many popular Chinese actors, Hu Ge (胡歌), Jiang Jingfu (蒋劲夫), Cecilia Liu (刘诗诗), Tiffany Tang (唐嫣), Gulnazar (古力娜扎), and Lin Gengxin (林更新). Xuan Yuan Sword 3 topped the nationwide TV ratings chart every week since its debut.

Jiang Jingfu and Gulnazar Thrust into the Spotlight

Twenty-one-year-old Jiang Jingfu currently studies at the Shanghai Theatre Academy and specializes in performance acting. In 2010, he appeared in the top rated variety program, Happy Camp <快乐大本营>, displaying his sparkling performance in the show. Jingfu was later invited by a Korean artist management company to audition in Korea, but he rejected the opportunity due to his studies.

Although younger than Jingfu by a year, Gulnazar entered into the entertainment industry much earlier. Gulnazar’s initial ambition was to become a professional dancer, but she was later scouted by a talent company. She started her modelling and dancing career when she was only 16 years old.

Xuan Yuan Sword 3 is Jingfu and Gulnazar’s debut performance, and the young stars are quick to have a taste of fame and recognition. The pair received viewers’ affirmation of their good acting, spiking a strong fan following. Within a few days after Xuan Yuan aired, their page views in Baidu were even looked at more than 2 million times!

No Sequel for “Xuan Yuan Sword 3”

The popularity of the Xuan Yuan Sword 3 has also stirred a craze on the Chinese RPG games, hence there has been speculation that a sequel will be on its way soon. However, the producer and leading actor, Hu Ge, has refuted the speculation. He revealed that although the fantasy drama had earned him good money, he would not consider filming a sequel for now, as he wishes to spend more time with his family. Many fans were disappointed and disheartened upon hearing the news.

However, it is understood that Xuan Yuan Sword 3’s success has helped Chinese Entertainment Shanghi gain large profits. The drama also left a strong impression on its viewers. Thus, the company is considering launching a similar drama of the same genre to replicate the success of Xuan Yuan Sword 3, to fulfill fans’ desire of an action-packed fantasy drama once again.

  2. I do not think she looks like Yang Mi at all! I don’t think that picture is very representative of how attractive she is. This young lady is very beautiful, but not always captivating, just a personal opinion.
