Moses Chan, Myolie Wu at “Walking With You” Blessing Ceremony

Moses Chan (陳豪) and Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) have been busily filming new TVB romance, Walking With You <陪著你走>. In the inspirational drama, Myolie  portrays a career woman who is blinded by illness, struggling to find a way to cope with her new life. The cast and crew gathered today at the blessing ceremony, praying for a speedy and smooth filming process.

Although portraying Myolie’s boyfriend in Walking With You, Moses is relieved that they do not share a lot of intimate scenes together. After getting married with Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) and becoming a father last year, the traditional-minded Moses hopes to avoid explicit scenes onscreen.

“I’m already married! I will try to avoid such scenes if possible. I can star in more period dramas, where men and women have to observe stricter codes of conduct,” Moses laughed. His healthy image received a boost since becoming a father to baby Aiden Joshua last December. Moses joked, “When I walk outside on the streets, more kids have asked to take photos with me, treating me like their father. Perhaps [I have] a more kind [aura].”

At the blessing ceremony, Myolie revealed that she has been preparing for her blind role by removing her contact lenses to reduce her vision clarity. Caught between Moses and Cheung Wing Hong (張穎康), Myolie’s character will also suffer emotional hurt before finding true love.

Produced by Chan Yiu Chuen (陳耀全), Walking With You also stars Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), Evergreen Mak (麥長青), and Jess Shum (沈卓盈).

  1. “Moses hopes to avoid explicit scenes onscreen.”

He was never in any explicit scenes with anyone. And even in earlier career his so called explicit scenes were not explicit thanks to his wooden kissing.

His wife is another matter. As actors, married or not, if he has to act intimately, he has to act intimately and intimate doesn’t mean jump to the bed.

His wife is best example. 3 years ago and 3 years now, so much difference as in being reserved and in a way hurting her portrayal in intimacy. I find her aloof then but now she is more aloof.

    1. I agree and regardless if you are married or not, if you need to act intimate, then you do it for your job. You need to be professional.

    2. My thoughts exactly on Aimee which I was trying to tell you when I saw her in OL. Her acting overall and especially in intimate scenes became a lot more conservative after she got together with moses. To me, it was evident even from ROE trailer that she was more comfortable with Ruco there than in OL.

    3. Agree.

It’s about being professional and a well-rounded actor. Unless that’s not what he want to be perceived for. He’s a good actor and has screen presence to a certain extent, but saying that he’ll rather not perform explicit scenes (as in kissing scenes?) is somewhat absurd. Perhaps I watch more Americans shows now, but always thought kissing scenes was pretty normal. Then again, this is Hong Kong. Somehow everything is explicit.

I want to believe that Moses was just joking in what he said though because after having a father image after his son was born coupled w/ this loving couple image that he and Aimee has had on for a while, his events fees are probably rising so he doesn’t want to destroy money-making opportunities.

Moses never striked me as an amazing actor, so I’m surprised I clicked on this article. Oh right, it was for Myolie. 🙂

Btw, he mentioned about wanting to star in more period dramas. Please don’t. He’s the most boring in those. Stick w/ modern is fine.

  2. Sound as though he’s not as profession as he should be…

If a person is doing his/her job right, regardless what he/she has to do..it’s part of the job…and has nothing to do with real life…

the fact that he seem to be not doing his job professionally, this job is not for him….even from the 1st day of his acting…

  3. yeah i think this tv show is going to be awesome anyway
because i just realise that myolie wu is a blind person and is her first time>>>> but good luck for her

  4. Surprising to hear that unprofessional pronouncement from Moses. Maybe he should look for another job that requires no kissing at all.

  5. I like Moses and Myolie. They’re both good actor and actress. Aimee is also getting a lot better.

  6. Moses apparently never heard of the word being “professional”. If an actor is required to portray intimacy, he shld, married or not….not that I am looking forward to Moses doing it lol.

    1. Professional or not that is another story. Actors have the rights to accept the role or not, that including kissing scene or sex scene. Just like Fala Chen in the past refuse to do tounge kissing scene due to she was then dating Daniel Sit.

There are many actors/actress after married refused to do sex scense, that is normal. It is preference, have nomthing to do with professional or not.

      1. That is why everyone suspected if Fala was already married or not and criticized her for being unprofessional.

      2. if the scene is required (not gratuitous), a professional actor/actress will do it, preference or not, married or not.

  7. “I’m already married! I will try to avoid such scenes if possible. I can star in more period dramas, where men and women have to observe stricter codes of conduct,” Moses laughed.”

    He was just joking around.

  8. hi there

    1. moses must be kidding.
    2. doing some bed scenes in front of the camera rolling!!!
    3. how much impact does it has?

  9. The definition of unprofessional: below or contrary to the standards expected in a particular profession.
So, what is Moses’ profession? Actor
What kind of standards may be expected? Talent in acting, persuasion in portraying one’s role, choosing to accept or not to accept a role that he deems appropriate for himself.
So what did Moses do that is so unprofessional?? Does verbally voices his preference to not film intimate scenes make him unprofessional? NO, it doesn’t. It simply means he spoke honesty about his preference for his future roles. Perhaps it also taught him to stop talking so much to the media because people (like the ones who have commented on this link and called him unprofessional) overreact so easily to what he says.

    1. Agree, this have nothing to diwth “professional” or not. This is all about the actor “preference” when taking on a role.
Fala Chen refused to do tounge kissing scenes when she was dating Daniel Sit, why don’t anyone called her “unprofessional”? LOL!

Actors have the rights to refuse (if they can) the role, if they find the role not suitable (for any reason). Sometimes actors don’t have much choice if they sign an exclusive big bucks contract. But in Moses case I’m sure he have some says, TVB don’t pay much, LOL!

It all about “preference” not “professionalism”

      1. It all depends whether or not the artiste is a favourite one to the fans on this website. Since Moses is not one, he will be “criticized” easily as “UNPROFESSIONAL”, same as Aimee.

Personally, I agree that it is a matter of preference, and not a matter of unprofessional.

      2. Many of the fans here are biased and prejudiced against some artistes. They just don’t want to admit it. There are many unpopular artistes on this website, such as Aimee Chan, Moses Chan, Fala Chen, and a few others.

      3. Correction: It should read “it is a matter of preference, and not a matter of professionalism”.

      4. Who isn’t bias to some extent??? But the main thing is, will they admit to being bias???

    2. Preference only when you are popular enough to have the right to say no. Unprofessional only when it is in the script, you agree to the script and then back off because you just don’t want to.

Can an actor portray a loving couple if he doesn’t even deep hug or even kiss his onscreen wife? Can that be convincing? The actors named in the replies to the post clearly answered all of it.

      1. Well said Funn and I agree with you. IF the script requires it and you have no choice, then you just have to do what is told.Yes, it is very unprofessional when you agree to it and then back off. I find they seem to more relaxed for series but more strict in movies.

    3. Professional is when he can act loving scenes with onscreen partners as required by the scripts and coming home with his wife/lover without any thinking of those onscreen partners.

Wen Zhang is unprofessional because he cheated his wife after filming love scenes with Yao Di.

      1. Yes, and that is one of the many challenges of being an actor/actress,are you able to get out of that character after you are done filming?? For example, if you played an insane character and then end up like that in real life which is rumoured to have happened to the late Leslie Cheung and Yammie Lam, are you able to pull out of that character and become yourself again???

      2. In the case of Yammie Lam, I think the movie took a very little effection on her poor life. More of the rape and pressure. As for Leslie, we all understand that the sadness in life took a part.

Actor needs to learn to forget everything rapidly. Actually it can help them to get into new characters better. A cold head is needed in such case.

I think most of jobs required brain need such skill. Cant let work make your life miserable.

      3. Hi Alluka,

I guess most actors/actresses received training on how to act that includes getting into the character and how to get out of the character. I think it may not necessarily work for everyone, yeah scary if you’ve to act in dramas to potray a mad person, you may get immerse yourself in that character and not able to pull yourself out. Still Moses Chan is not comparable to some older actors like Felix Wong, Bowie Lam just to name a few. I feel in acting, singing or even dancing it takes talents. Some people may not necessarily blessed with such talent and they only rely on training and it’s never enough to improve yourself.

  10. i will be watching this.I quite liked the korean movie Always with han hyo joo even though its a chick flix.Too bad not available on blueray.

  11. Never heard of TVB and sex scene in one sentence, at all. It does not exist. As to why Bosco and Myolie broke up, you either believe he cheated on her or she cheated on him or both cheated on each other. Never heard of Kate’s involvement and it is only filming. If such is the case everyone in Games Of Throne are in danger.

  12. Most women get jealous easily no matter how professional they are!!! This is a fact and is real life!

    1. Well that is a baggage that many actors and actresses’ wives and husbands have to carry..

  13. hi there

    sandcherry

    1. bingo.
    2. never mess up with 2 gals at the same time.
    3. endless troubles.

  14. An actor/actress has to be able to pull themselves out from the character after the camera stops rolling. If the script requires you to do kissing or bed scenes, I guess they’ve to do it. Especially if you’re those up & coming stars, the more you want to oblidge. Perhaps these days Moses has more says as a lot of talents have gone to Mainland. There are not many good ones left behind so he has more negotiation power what he prefers and what’s not. Just imagine, when those days he relies solely on a mere income probably he wont say this as you know this is just “acting” it’s your job.

  15. Moses was laughing (or joking) when he said, “I will try to avoid such scenes if possible”, he did not say “I won’t do it even if it is required in the script”. So we cannot call him “unprofessional”, we can only say that he is more selective in choosing his scripts and characters. Of course, there will be drawbacks for him in his career if he becomes too picky.

In fact, kissing and bed scenes are quite okay with the other halves. It is just not too good for the artistes’ children, especially if they are too young to understand.

  16. Yea, where did this come from??? I have never heard of that at all.. Anyways, Myolie and Bosco have broken up years ago and have both moved on, but I cannot believe people are STILL talking about it.It feels like the public and fans just cannot move on, not them.

    1. its just a rumour, papparazis are famous in creating rumours, without rumours they cant exist. some rumours contains a high certainty of the truth but also many are fake. just read it with a grain of salt.no matter if its true or not,in most of the cases you will choose the side of your own idol, unless there are indisputable evidence that tells the truth.

  17. It depends on the person. Maybe Myolie and Kate was never best friend. As for Bosco and Myolie they already have issues long before whatever scene.

  18. Ever since Moses won BA in 2007 from Heart of Greed (I think), I feel as if his acting has stagnated and it really has gotten no where. Sure he makes a ton of money now from doing other things, but when it comes to TVB dramas, I haven’t found him amazing in any recent ones ever since Heart of Greed…

    1. Personally I did not like him in “Heart of Greed”. I don’t like him acting comedic roles. He was good in “When Heaven Burns”.

  19. OK, i don’t dislike Moses, although i am not super fond of him, but every time i see him grin (such as the photo above), it’s screaming for me to punch him in the jaw lol
