Basketball Star, Yi Jianlian, Had Pursued Crystal Liu
Chinese basketball star and former NBA player, Yi Jianlian (易建聯), announced on September 29 that his wife gave birth to a healthy baby boy in Los Angeles. He and his wife, Jing Ling, are both from Guangdong and allegedly met at a mutual friend’s gathering three or four years ago. The star’s announcement shocked many fans, and some did not even know he was married.
Following his revelation, many media outlets decided to dig up Jianlian’s past romantic relationships. In one report, it was revealed that prior to meeting his current wife, Jianlian was rumored to have pursued Mainland Chinese actress, Crystal Liu (劉亦菲). The pair had met seven years ago while shooting a milk commercial together.
Crystal’s ethereal appearance had captivated Jianlian, and it was said that Jianlian fell for Crystal at first sight. Jianlian reached out to Crystal’s assistant to get her number and had even sent gifts to Crystal’s mother. However, Crystal turned down Jianlian’s pursuit. Even so, the two remained good friends and Crystal supported Jianlian at his basketball games on several occasions.

As they say… beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think “ethereal” may be a bit much, but Crystal definitely can catch one’s eye.

he’s not 26. he’s 29. his birth date was falsified by the chinese government so he could dominate fiba competitions as a teen. his real age was revealed this year. his age is a part of the reason he’s not in the NBA. he’s not very physical and injury prone and he’s going to be 30 soon.

I actually think she looks prettier in modern clothing than ancient clothing. In my opinion, she looked too cherubic to play Xiao Long Nv in Condor Heroes. Yes, she’s very fairy-like but not goddess-like if that makes sense.
