Gaile Lok (樂基兒) finally put a stop to her divorce rumors with Leon Lai (黎明), blasting tabloids for false speculations over her current marriage.
Seven Year Itch?
Tabloids claimed that Gaile had entered the “Seven Year Itch,” falling for another man while giving Leon the cold shoulder. Gaile reportedly was not swayed by Leon’s lavish gifts, which included a new car, luxury yacht, and three houses in San Francisco. Despite the $100 million HKD gifts, Gaile allegedly treated Leon as if he were a stranger in the house.
With a 14-year gap from Leon, Gaile reportedly continued to frequent nightclubs after marriage. In April 2009, Gaile traveled overseas to a photography shoot. After getting drunk, she was photographed kissing a bearded man on the lips.
Miscarriage Caused Rift?
Additional rumors surfaced that Gaile and Leon’s marriage rift was caused by her miscarriage. At the end of last year, Gaile appeared bloated and with a bulging belly, sparking pregnancy rumors. At the time, Leon had responded, “I will follow Chinese tradition and cannot respond until a full three months have passed!”
The couple never came to announce any pregnancy news; it was understood that Gaile had a miscarriage earlier this year.
Gaile’s Response
“I will not respond to the details in the tabloid reports because they are false,” Gaile said at a promotional event on September 27.
Gaile denied that she had fallen for another man. However, she admitted that she had invested in a Mexican restaurant with ex-fiance, Ray Ng (吳承浚), which Leon was also aware of.
Asked to describe her current relationship with Leon, Gaile said, “I will not respond. I am here for work reasons today! In the industry for many years, these type of rumors frequently happen, but please do not harass other people. Even if Leon and I were able to accept the news, but please do not disturb other people who are unrelated to the story. I do not want to bother my family members.”

She is correct about not having the 7 year itch…she just had a 6 year itch with a miscarriage as a result (luckily for Leon)…
