Linda Chung Shed Tears Twice at First Solo Concert

Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) held the first of her two “Love Love Love” concerts at the Kowloon Bay Trade & Exhibition Centre on August 22. Artists including Shirley Yeung (楊思琦), Wong He (王喜), Nancy Sit (薛家燕), Grace Wong (王君馨), and Desmond Pang (彭紀諺) went to support their friend for the big night. Throughout the concert, Linda twice possessed tears in her eyes.

Linda made her first appearance in white pants and a white top, which revealed her hips. A group of fans rushed up the stage to take photos of their idol and caused a commotion. The first song Linda sang in the night was a remix version of Priscilla Chan’s (陳慧嫻) “Silly Girl” <儍女>. The beat was altered to a fast and joyous one, and Linda danced while singing. Although she seemed a little breathless, she told the audience it was a new attempt. Linda asked, “Did that count as a breakthrough? I’ve never tried such a long dance. Did you guys watch? Can I change my image?”

Later in the night, Linda changed into a dress that revealed her back and played the piano while she sang. She became so excited that a teardrop landed on her face. “I promised myself I wouldn’t cry. But a teardrop still came out,” Linda said.

When Linda sang the song, “I Will Marry You Tomorrow” <明天我要嫁給你>, fans yelled out, “Okay!” Their warmth and support put Linda in great spirits. Janice Vidal (衛蘭) and Allison Tse (謝文欣) were the guest stars of the night. Linda exclaimed, “Singers usually have crew members surrounding them and it’s hard to communicate. Once, Janice took the initiative to come and talk to me. She praised my good singing and we could both speak in English. We became great friends really quickly.”

Linda could no longer hold back her tears as she sang the last song of the night. “No matter how tedious I am from this concert, I hope everyone will be able to bring the positive energy of music and love back home,” she said through sobs.

  1. Did anyone of you attend Linda’s concert? How was her singing? I hope to get true comments from a regular concert attendee, and not from Linda’s big fans.

    1. If you search her concert on youtube, there are clips of her concert!!

      1. Hi, Coco, long time no see you; i am glad to see you again in this web. You may not know who am i but i know you; that is enough.

      2. Coco
I did a search on YouTube, but did not seem to find it. Would you by any chance have a link to view her concert? If you do, I would appreciate your posting.

      3. pandamao
Thanks for your links. I just listened to her singing on YouTube. My husband said she sounded like a kindergarten music teacher singing to her students. I guess it is not a very good compliment!

I don’t like her dress though. She looked like a little big girl in the show.

      4. I don’t find Linda’s singing in the clips as good as you guys said. Do I have hearing problems or have too high expectation? I have to agree with the kindergarten teacher comparison, for her singing, her outfits, her amateur dancing and her teddy bear prop.

        ——————————————————-
Linda Chung sounded the best in this song, more like a singer than a kindergarten music teacher.

Moreover, I think Linda has to learn to breathe softer. I could hear all her breathing when she sang, very much like Raymond Lam. Perhaps this is the current trend for singers in Hong Kong.

      6. U just have high expectations. Look Linda is Linda. U already know she is not going to be like those Joey, Miriam, kelly, sammi, Denise concerts. It was a good enough concert for her standards. She may not be a great singer but I think she is acceptable.

      7. I am not complaining. I do have very high standards for singing and acting unfortunately. Anyway it is good to find out if Linda has improved or not.

Personally I don’t think Linda will ever be a good singer due to her weak voice. If she wants to have self-satisfaction, it is okay, but she will never shine in music industry (based on my personal opinions only).

Sorry if I upset Linda Chung’s fans.

      8. Well then if you say that way Nicholas I must say that I think it’s fair to expect Linda to perform at a professional singer standard just like Miriam, Kelly, Gem, Denise since she called herself a professional singer like them and not calling herself a kindergarten teacher or children lullaby singer.

      9. Probably all the people attending Linda Chung’s concert were her big fans who only cared about seeing their idol. They did not really care if Linda is a good singer or not.

      10. It’s ok. Everyone have their opinion. Linda just want to improve herself and try her best. She’s already happy to be able to have a mini concert.

      11. @Nicholas: I personally think Linda was really happy and grateful for her two shows of concerts. She got to perform with her longtime idol, which is a huge blessing 🙂

      12. As long as Linda Chung was happy and her concert was well sold, I am sure her sponsors wouldn’t mind if Linda is a good singer or not.

      13. agree after reading all the comments can conclude that the fans who went there cares and support her mostly about linda her pure wholesome good girl image and not wether she is a truly talented singer or not. based on the clips i don’t like her singing.

    2. I wasn’t there but there are some news that reported her singing was off key at some places and was nervous sounding at the start of her concert.

      1. I’m sure that she may have went off-key, but it is okay since this is her first concert and as Christine Grimmie says, “when you mess up live just keep going, you are a professional when you keep going.”

And I listened to some clips of her concert on YT and omg, some of her performances were really nice, especially the part with Kelly Chen! =)

      2. Please concentrate tvb drama. singing + acting will kill your career sooner

      3. It was off key. Her singing career so far is been FLAT.

      4. agree. linda is off key and weak singing and her dancing is laughable. more like an aerobic routine.

    3. i agree, i think her singing is really bad. i think she should stick to acting. She was off key most of the time T____T why is she trying so hard to be a singeR??? weird

  2. As much as I like linda i feel like her concert was like a circus=/

    1. Really? If that were the case, then maybe she should just stick to acting and try to improve on that instead.

    2. It looks a bit too sugary sweet from pictures and clips. There was even a part where Linda was hugging and singing to a huge teddy bear onstage. Why not make it more adult and invite a hot male model onstage instead to be her prop?

      1. I personally liked her personal outfit choices. It was cute and filled with fun 🙂

      2. Linda Chung’s outfit would be good if all the attendees were little kids.

      3. I personally liked her choices. Most of the time when hk singers host concerts, they tend to show their ‘sexy’ side and wear quite revealing clothes.

It’s a singing concert, not a “show-your-cleavage/body” type of concert.

      4. and I’m sorry for that description. That’s how I feel when I saw that Joey Yung poster and most of the HK singers’ concerts.

      5. It’s a singing concert, not a “show-your-cleavage/body” type of concert.
        ————————————————————
I agree, but not in some kiddy’s clothes either unless it is a children’s concert.

      6. I agree, but not in some kiddy’s clothes either unless it is a children’s concert.
^ Some of her outfits/crops are questionable, but her white dress with that bow was cute (:

      7. Sorry, I don’t even like that white dress with the big bow. The back is see-through with just a zipper. The big bow blocked her front bodice making her figure very funny, but her back was sexy and see-through. In other words, she looked like a little kid in the front, but a sexy woman at the back.

      8. the big bow dress look weird because of the big bow! from the front looks as if it was made in hurry by some 12 year olds instead of designer labels or could it be because of the way linda is carrying it childishly?

    3. Or maybe like Katy Perry? Sugar and spice and all things nice?

      I don’t like her singing.

      1. more like a nicky minaj colourful childish minus colourful hair and add jade image

  3. I’m happy that she finally hosted her first concert and her idol Kelly Chen was also a performer at her second showing of her concert!! 🙂

  4. Didn’t know she and Janice were such good friends. Wasn’t Kelly Chen her guest too?

    1. Yes Kelly was the guest for second night and she’s marvelous. My friend went to the second show and said that Kelly is still as good onstage as when she was young and her stage presence was more overwhelming in a good way although she’s just a guest.

      1. i think kelly looks prettier and more presentable than linda when they perform together! that’s such a compliment given that kelly is much older and is a mom!

  5. Although I do not like Linda’s singing. She is a genuine & a warm person. That’s why she’s got my support.

    1. I can’t decide whether I like her singing or not. As of right now, I find her recordings to be decent but her live performances to be a bit emotionless. However, I know she’s new to singing so there are still plenty of room for improvement.

She is definitely a very genuine person and it’s not fake like Twins.

In terms of singing, there are few songs from Myolie that I like as well. When Flora Chan debuted, I thought she had a pretty nice voice as well.

Most of the male singers that started as actors actually are more preferred for me .. example Gallen Lo, Steven Ma (these two are bad examples though since they actually started as singers before they were actors).

      1. Roger Kwok also started as singer, same time as Gallen Lo and under the same management company, but I guess he was not good enough to pursue his singing career.

      2. Haven’t heard any of Roger Kwok’s songs. Don’t know if he was good or not.

In his drama series, “Glittering Days”, he was a singer an his songs were sung by Wong Cho Nam.

      3. Can Linda still be considered “new”? Personally, I think 4 years is more than enough time for people to show significant improvement if they want a career in that field. Especially for people who started at such sup par levels like Linda.

      4. I like Flora’s singing too!
Raymond Lam is worth mentioning !

    2. This shows that in the end supporting an idol star is not about their singing or acting anymore 😀

  6. A lot of these ABC & CBA TVB singers sing a lot better in English. Maybe is cause they know the language and is fluent so it is easier, but Linda definitely sings well with English songs. I went to that Moonlight Resonance show back in New Jersey a few years back and her cover of Mariah Carey’s Hero was pretty good considering it was live. The kind of good even Chinese people who had no idea what she was singing went OOOO. I’m serious.

    1. 29 years old auntie wanna act like little girl ?!! come-on bad theme …sack the publicist and costume designer. it look like themepark aerobic show more than paid solo concert. This might also retired farewell show

  7. I flew from the us to hk to support linda at her first concert. Was the 24 hrs flight worth it? Heck yea! Granted we all know that linda is not at the same level as Joey but Linda is Linda. She is a genuine person with a good heart who works hard to get where she is today. I had a great time at her two shows. I like the upbeat tempo remix of her songs and she was truly touched by fans and was happy to finally achieve her dream of holding her a solo concert. I can’t wait got the next concert. I
I recorded most of the concert and will slowly upload on YouTube. My user name is oinkierx

    1. I am happy that Linda is Linda. I personally am not a fan of Joey Yung. She has her own style (:

And I can’t wait for the upload! ^.^

    2. Wow, Linda Chung must be touched by you and your trip ……… flying 24 hours to attend her two shows in Hong Kong.

Did you let her know about your special trip to attend her concerts? Did she say anything in her shows?

    3. Nesi
I am impressed that Linda Chung has that kind of a fan ………… you flying 24 hours from the States to Hong Kong to attend her 2 shows!

    4. Flying from the US to Hk takes 24 hours??? Are you serious? I have heard around 15-16 or 18 at most but never 24 ever. Anyways she is lucky to have a fan like you who went through so much to see her concert.

      1. Maybe Nesi had to change a few flights to see Linda 🙂

      2. I think so too. It only takes 17+ hours to fly to Hong Kong from the east coast of Canada, depending where you live in big cities or not and if it is a direct flight or not.

    5. yes linda is linda. But, if she wants to be a singer then she needs to be better than that. She is a horrible singer.I just don’t understand, i wonder if she knows that or not… LOL
i watched a lot of her singing, they were bad. We’re expect a lot because she wants to be a singer. We’re not comparing her with Joey, kelly etc.
She doesnt fit to be a singer

      1. Fit or not fit, she is a singer and she isnt coming off the stage so its really just better to ignore her if youre so disgusted by her singing.

P.S. I am not even her fan but now a days I cant help but feel idol stars gets bullied for being liked……

      2. I didn’t know that some criticisms towards singers such as Linda who bank in their looks or personality and not their bad live singing is called bullying now. I don’t see any problem with people calling a bad singer unfit to be a singer. The comment above is not hating on Linda for being liked but is commenting about her as a singer.

      3. crystal: excuse me, but i am not hating on her. i personally like her in many tvb series. But she is not a good singer and she doesnt fit to be one. Everyone knows that. I am not bullying her, this is the truth. gosh.

bbfanny: thank you! at least you undersatand.

      4. I actually have no idea why my comment went directly under yours. It was meant for the general public.

But anyways, criticism or no criticism, it does not take away the fact that these idol stars gets criticisms left and right for the dumbest things. Even if some of them centers on so called ‘constructive crticisms’ … may I ask.. why do people spend so much time criticizing people on their so called skills/talents when their title ‘idol’ says it all? There is a reason why she is an idol star and not a professional singer. People call her a singer because she’s singing. That’s about all. Her idol image comes first and everyone knows that.

And as for the bullying thing. Well any idol star will probably tell their closest friends they feel they are bullied all the time. Pop open the screen, browse on the internet all they see, hear ‘she can’t do this.. no talent there.. go home blah blah’ I don’t know about any of you who gives out ‘constructive criticisms’ but I don’t see any of you any different from the big bad boy who tries to steal or take a little boy’s lunch. I mean it is the same kind of tension. Only I think emotional abuse is much more cruel than any physical pain on the body.

      5. I don’t quite agree. If those artistes are professional artistes, they are paid with good money to take those emotional criticisms. There is a Chinese saying: “If you eat salty fish, you will be able to stand thirst”.

If they call themselves professional singers and they don’t sing well, they should know tat they will have lots of criticisms. This is life! I don’t feel sorry for Linda Chung. If she does not know, she is too naive and innocent. She is a public figure, she is subject to praises and criticisms. As long as people don’t do personal attacks, I think it is quite okay.

      6. You are absolutely right Sandcherry. But just because she is expected to take these criticisms that does not mean we as viewers must criticize. Her taking criticisms and people making the criticisms are two separate things. And some of the stuff being said about her aren’t even criticisms. Similar to Raymond Lam gets the hell wish, Tavia is cursed to drive into a tree because her nose is weird looking… see what I mean? These stars, idols will take it all in but as viewers.. is it necessary?

I love using bums as an example. When we see a bum on the street, we see them as gross because they stink, they’re dirty etc.. And I guess because they’re bums and they know they’re bums they have to take those comments in, right?

      7. agree with bbfanny. wow to linda’s fans she can do no wrong and any criticism is called bullying her. how childish.

      8. crystal:
she wants to be a singer….
if she stops singing then people will stop calling her a wannabe singer lol.
seriously, she should stick to acting and focus improving her acting.
and tell her not to have any concerts. it’s better to have a fanmeeting where she could connect with her fans.
she’s horrible. that is the truth. stop being delusional. gosh.

    6. Nesi I understand your enthusiasm.I am still in debt after my trip to a concert of my idol but it was all worth it. Whatever my sentiments of Linda’s singing, no doubt fans who are willing to travel so far and for so much cost must feel worth it. Couple of years down the road I am sure this is a great memory of the crazy things we do for our idols.

BUT… how can you record her concert?! Isn’t it illegal and not encouraged? Why not upload clips and encourage others to but the eventual DVD?

      1. It is illegal, but its like a common practice now and so difficult to police as a result. By the way, is anyone is into good singing, try YouTube search for Kirstin Chenoweth duet of For Good with a randomly selected audience; Sarah Horn. I’ve been fortunate to see Wicked in West End, and Sarah Horn is that good vocally that she is comparable!

      2. No, you can record performances/concerts (depending on the artiste & company). It’s not illegal. It’s not encouraged because it could blind someone on stage due to flash photography. But if you are filming without any flash photography, it’s fine…

      3. but then again, there are copyright issues which is why they also discourage people to film concerts.

      4. Officially no. There is usually an announcement at the beginning of any shows/concerts that no video recording or flash photography is allowed. However, it depends a lot on the artistes, the company running the shows, and the types of attendees. It could be flexible sometimes.

    7. Full credit to you Nesi for being such a loyal fan. I agreed with you, Linda is Linda …. so stop comparing to others.

    8. woah you must be sasaeng fan- anyways, linda chung all the way!!!!!

  8. 16 hours is direct from NY to HK … 24 hours probably means a transfer somewhere … I would fly the distance to attend Linda’s concert too … except tickets are twice as expensive in August.

    1. It is really expensive to attend Linda Chung’s 2 concerts in Hong Kong from North America:

      $1,600+ return air ticket + 2 nights’ accommodation + meals + 2-show tickets = easily around $3,500.

Nasi, you are lucky that you must be quite loaded with money.

  9. very very bad bad performance, but I hope can see her naked around the stage. yummyyyy!

  10. People learn from experience.. Failure is expected since this is her first solo concert.

  11. I just feel like Linda is one of those Disney stars who can’t wait to break away from the “good girl” image. But, she’ll hang in there til it’s time or something.

    1. I think she will have a breakthrough role in Tiger Cubs 2.

      1. I know!!!!!! can’t wait!!!! this must be the year for Linda!!!!

Tigr Cbs 2 + Musc concrt = TVB Qn + lots of $$

    2. I want her to have a good girl image because there are plenty of bad girls out there. I like her positive image. I am sick of Miley Cyrus wannabes. Her only bad girl image will be from the characters she plays.

    3. I tend to think Linda Chung as the chinese version of “Hilary Duff”. Hilary Duff is a former Disney star, played “good girl” roles AND she stayed true to herself, unlike most of the former Disney stars. (:

      1. LINDA CHUNG!!!!!!!!!!

I also find her similar to Tiffany Hwang from SNSD – both know how to use their $$ well, have great ambitions, and have crossed the language barrier to success!!!!!!!

  12. Gosh, these kind of singing skills and can still hold concerts? ahhaha LOL…sigh..

    1. Is Twins can do it, if Miriam Yeung can do it, if Sammi Cheng can do it, why not her? Concerts is less about singing and more about performance and entertaining those in the hall. Only die hard fans of faye Wong would have enjoyed her concerts.

      1. Sammi Cheng can actually sing, the others? NOT so much…haha…

      2. Twins are pretty bad. Sammi Cheng and Miriam Yeung are just acceptable, but not great. Joey Yung should be the best in her generation. She has a strong voice to start with. If singers don’t have strong voices, they will never excel (at least to me). It is what people call “chicken voice”. Liza Wang is one of them, so her singing is never that great.

      3. @sandberry,
I have to agree about JOEY YUNG if nothing else. She does have a more than just OK voice. Twins – they are lucky they were cute or what? hahaha LOL they sound horrible whether its studio or live. Sammi Cheng – OK i guess. Miriam – I don’t really listen to her songs AT ALL so i never have much to say about her? But then again, the music industry standards are weird. Eason Chan to me is sooooo…overrated but he’s weirdly popular it seems. Ronald Cheng – can make an ugly song a great song but he’s NOT popular at all so their standards on music is just weird.

      4. You are absolutely right. Hong Kong music industry is just weird these days. I also think Eason Chan is over-rated.

As a matter of fact, I don’t like any of the current pop singers who are more idol singers than real singers. They are just performers, and not singers. They don’t need to have a good voice to start with. They just have to perform with gimmicks, such as fancy or sexy clothes, funny dancing, weird makeup and packaging, big fan base and strong promotions.

      5. Miriam is actually a fave for me mainly because I enjoy her ability to inject emotions in her singing. Technically, she’s not too good though.

Sammi – the songs that are made for her suit her and suit her only. I say she’s got a strong PR working for her, making sure all her music will bring out the best in her.

Eason Chan – definitely not overrated. He’s got some great songs 5 years ago but once he got popular, he wanted to sing for himself instead of those “K-Songs” that people love. His talent is a bit quirky and not as mainstream as before. Technically – he’s got the skills.

I really like William So but he’s always ignored in HK music industry for some reason … I really hope he has a break through coming up soon!

Nowadays – we have more unique music styles and not as many mainstream K songs it seems. I actually prefer this since it gives me a variety of music to listen to but the problem is – there’s no one new to take Joey’s spot when she’s ready to move on. Kay Tse is far from Joey yet she’s the closest competitor out there.

      6. Is William So same as So Wing Hong? He can sing and sings well. I like his voice.

Sammi – the songs that are made for her suit her and suit her only ……… agree!

Personally I don’t like Eason Chan that much. He is not a bad singer, but he is not in the same level as Joey Yung.

Joey Yung is the only good one in this generation and no one can take her place yet. Sad! Feel sorry for the current music industry.

I don’t like the current styles of composing songs, with long lyrics and poor melodies. Perhaps this makes it easier for those singers who cannot sing well.

      7. I personally prefer Kelly Chen, Vincy and Kay Tse over Joey Yung and Sammi Cheng. :/

      8. So Wing Hong is the best singer among the Big Four.

      9. Agree with Funn. Miriam is mediocre, Twins are atrocious. But there are good singers who deserved a break much more than Linda Chung! Every starlets or actor want to be a singer without knowing how to perform and be a real singer. Producers and music companies also don’t help as they choose looks over talents… And with auto-tune, chicken voice like Linda, Fala, Bosco and many more sounds ok on album, but can sing live! Bring on Fred Cheng and the guy who won The Voice 3 I say.

Sandcherry is also right, songs nowadays are pooly written and they are packed with unnecessary tricks.

    2. Sorry, it should be “cant sing live” instead of “can sing live” in my post.

  13. Who is Linda’s stylist???? I suppose her overall look equally matched her singing = POOR taste!

    1. well linda is an idol artiste at best and her fans paid money to see linda as an idol mostly, her singing is unimportant matter since to her fans she’s the best and can do no wrong and can’t be criticized 🙂

  14. Wow … i think she should focus on her acting, her singing is amateur at best and it looks like she’s singing at a piano bar. The outfit/costume is kinda weird too …

  15. awwwwwww c’mon give her a break its her 1st concert n shes prolly nervous rite! Well it seems like her audience had a grand time connecting with her though.

hmm btw, no more big bows or wings on d bodice plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Linda Chung!!!

    1. maybe if she wants to connect with her fans then she should have a fanmeeting lolol instead of a live concert…….

  16. Linda needs a breakthru’ in the ent line, this concert is just a boost and promo to her career in a way is good to speed up her own recognition.

  17. ” Only die hard fans of faye Wong would have enjoyed her concerts.”
the same thing can be said about Linda Chung’s fans. and please don’t compare Linda Chung to singer like Faye Wong, it such an insult to her cuz at least she doesn’t have a shaky and breathless voice. and i’m not a fan of faye wong at all.

lol at the costumes. Linda’s voice is as usual, shaky and breathless. but it not like her fans come to the concert to enjoy the singing anyway….

  18. I find it ironic or in other terms, double standards. It’s alright for Joey Yung and them to wear weird-looking clothes during their concert time (eg. http://i.imgur.com/MzIwR5P.jpg –> a pic of Joey in this lollipop outfit), yet if Linda Chung wears childish clothes, it’s another story.

  19. Don’t know how long she can milk this image, she is too old for this. And yes, 29 years old is “old” for her kiddy image at the concert. A real soulful singer would not buy the concept of kiddy theme at that age. Save it for the teeny booper!

TVB is selling her image, that’s all. Poor girl probably think her voice is good and TVB is continuing to feed her to think that way.

All in all…company make money, she make money, fan still support regardless if her singing talent is questionable..why stop?

      1. I can accept it if “She wore ‘kiddy’ outfits to match the theme of her songs/concert”. But her white dress with the big bow was see-through at the back from neckline to waistline or even lower. What did Linda try to sell ……. a big kid or a sexy woman? It just didn’t make sense to me.

      2. I didn’t see the back of her dress. But if what Linda Chung is wearing is childish, what about the outfits of most k-pop girl groups (eg. Girl Day or something among those lines) ?

      3. Linda Chung is 29. The Kpop girls are mostly late teens and early 20s young girls and most of the time their outfits are maturer than what Linda wore in her concert.

      4. They are not appropriate either, but I guess it is quite common in Hong Kong entertainment industry.

      5. so yes agree with others, it’s cringeworthy because linda is too old at 29 for this kiddish theme and costumes in her concert. yew

      6. another talentless group twins used to be kiddish too when they were younger but adopted a maturer image when they reach late 20’s.

      7. She only wore those kiddish outfits in an one-time concert. Will she dress the same way in future performances/concerts? Probably not. And not all of her concert outfits were kiddish. And all I wanted to say is that if what Linda Chung wore (the see-through white dress with the bow, the dress in the picture above) is kiddish, then the outfits of most k-pop groups and what some artistes (eg. Joey Yung wears in most of her concerts (eg. that Lollipop outfit) aren’t that ‘appropriate’ either.

And I personally like Charlene Choi’s singing 🙂

      8. that doesn’t change that linda wears unfitting kiddish costume and concert theme for her 29 year old age and also no one said linda is the only one who wear kiddish costumes. only more striking because linda is doing at the age of 29. and so what if joey did it? she must’ve received some criticisms too.

      9. and as said earlier, kpop girl groups are YOUNG girls in their teens up to early 20’s, just like japans AKB48 where girls ‘graduate’ when they reah certain age or want to proceed to do other things and stop the kiddish performances. that’s why it doesn’t look as awkward with them. and most of them nowadays prefer the sexy mature themes over these kiddish theme too.

      10. You guys saw it as kiddish costumes.. I frankly thought it was fine. Sure it doesn’t match up her age but in some ways, it did match up with her personality.. But this brings me to two other questions: is wearing matching-to-age outfits that important/crucial in today’s society? And how do you even set the boundaries for an outfit that is too young, appropriate for that age, or too old??

And as a youth under 20, my friends nor classmates nor myself wear the outfits worn by these k-pop girl groups. But that’s all I need to say.

      11. each to their own, but bu common sense bet people know what will be seen as childish and weird for a 29 year old to wear even at concerts, and that includes both linda and your claim of joey. that still means you’re implying that linda is immature for her age if you say she’s dressing to her personality at the concert with the weird big bow and colourful top up there, are you sure 😛

      12. “That still means you’re implying that linda is immature for her age if you say she’s dressing to her personality at the concert with the weird big bow and colourful top up there, are you sure :P”

No, that’s not what I am implying nor what I have said. I said I thought it was perfectly FINE (exact words: “I frankly thought it was fine”) for her to wear the outfits she wore in her concert since her songs surrounded the theme of “a kid” and Linda has also mentioned the kiddy theme in her interview PRIOR to this concert!! And when I said some of the outfits matches her personality traits, what it meant was: Linda Chung is an artiste who knows when to have fun/to be playful, relax and being herself.

      13. selfiwu don’t be so negative. Would u prefer the mature miley cyrus version at the VMA awards or the childish and bubbly Hannah Montana version?????

        Obviously the HM version.

Linda is just trying to be herself – she wants t bubbly and happy to brighten up the lives of all those hongkongers who are living in distress and depression……

      14. We’re not saying Linda is immature. She is obviously smart to proceed with that kiddy theme since she knows fans will support her regardless. She know her fan base and what sell.

I simply think she is too old to sell that image. And yes, this is her only solo concert and I am judging from this 1 concert.

Like I said, she’s selling those girl good/kid image and fans are buying it, then there is no problem. If that is the kind of singer she wants to be. If she want to be a real pro singer not idol singer, then she need A LOT more then that.

      15. Yeung4life – stop comparing her to HM. HM is only 20 years old and come from Disney kid. That itself already speak a lot in term of comparison. If you haven’t noticed, most teenyboppers and girl/boy bands doesn’t last long and tend to go down south as they grow older. Those are the type of image that sell with age, real talent last forever.

      16. “Yeung4life – stop comparing her to HM. HM is only 20 years old and come from Disney kid. ”

Being 20 and being a former Disney kid is still no excuse for Miley Cyrus’s latest behaviour on VMA. Yes, she is dealing a lot in her personal life, but as a public figure, what you do in the public do have some influence.

And being young still bears that you’re responsible for your own actions and potential consequences.

      17. What I meant is comparing style. I’m not justifying HM behavior. You cannot compare 20 yr old former Disney kid (HM old self) with 29 yrs old former beauty pageant and actress. And if those two share the same image, then that is a problem (in my opinion). Not to mention HM Disney kid image was when she was in her teenage year, not even 20.

      18. That’s fine. But we can definitely compare the style of Miley Cyrus with Hilary Duff’s style. Hilary Duff is a former Disney star in her teenage years and you rarely see/hear bad rumours of her. And she maintained her “good girl” image throughout.

    1. Yea, Hilary Duff is only 25. She is also dying out too (compare to her before), married with kid. I’m not sure why you guys even comparing Linda to these celebrities, which make your argument even weaker.

Not sure why fan even compared her to other mediocre singers. Just because they are bad doesn’t justification it is ok for Linda not to be good. Is that the golden standard for HK pop singer nowadays? Compare bad to bad and justify it?

Like I said, I have nothing again Linda. I simply think she is too old for this. If idol singer is her goal, she certainly achieved it.

      1. Kathy-
I bought up Hilary Duff because although Hilary Duff has left Disney a long time ago, she still has her ‘former Disney star’ image..

And if Hilary Duff’s singing is mediocre/horrible, then are you saying Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga and them are better? And Hilary Duff prioritizes her FAMILY ahead of her career. But at the same time, she also took up writing her books. What she is doing is almost the same thing as Esther Kwan. Family first. And if you followed her facebook/twitter, Hilary Duff did mention that she misses hosting concerts and connecting with her fans, which means she may be having a comeback !

Her words: “Hoping to have something new out by the end of the year, Duff explains, “Next week I’m taking meetings with different producers and writers and getting that process started again. I’m ready. I’m taking my time because I want it to be right.” (it was an interview with People magazine)

  20. Honestly, she can’t sing. I do not understand why she gets to have a solo concert when she can’t sing.

  21. almost puked when in second night linda openly profess her love to phillips in a sing while philip waving her fanmade nameboard in audience. and linda still want to deny that philip is her boyfriend when it’s so obvious. maybe she’s embarrass his career is in slums and he got famous for courting girls behind her back and pee on the streets 😛

    1. Seriously, does Linda really have to like a guy like Phillip? Have all of the men in HK died and he’s the only one that’s left???????

When I first looked up Phillip on google I was devastated – he was the ugliest, poorest and unpopular guy in the world!!!!!

I thnk LInda deserves someone like David Henney, Dennis Oh or at least Lee Minho……Well, Minho’s mine so that leaves Dennis and David haahah hehehehehhe….=.=

      1. I also hope Linda Chung will find someone better than Philip. Good financial stability is very important to a woman, especially an actress. Linda’s husband surely does not want people to say that he is eating soft rice and living on Linda’s money.

Moreover, Linda is such a genuine and sincere person. She deserves someone better.

      2. Philip doesn’t give me a good impression too. He looks too unkempt and unstable for a clean pure girl like Linda. If they got married, Philip and Linda has to be patient with others seeing him as eating soft rice.

      3. If Linda really likes Phillip then that’s all that really matters. She’s probably the type of woman who overlooks a man’s fortune and appearance, so if he treats her right then we should all be happy for her.

  22. Honestly I don’t think her singing was that terrible. I definitely heard improvement compared to her previous performances (:
