Moses Chan Hopes to Spend Mid-Autumn Festival with Family

Known for being a good husband and father, Moses Chan (陳豪) was asked to star in a moon cake advertisement for precisely his family man image.

In the advertisement, Moses plays a loving father – a role he is well-suited for – but it also means that he had to deal with an easily-distracted and mischievous child actor, who plays his son. However, Moses easily bonded with the little boy with various affectionate gestures such as carrying him and feeding him bits of mooncake, and succeeded in getting the boy to cooperate with filming.

Moses admitted that the child actor reminded him of his own son, Aiden Joshua. Moses said, “Whether I’m attending an event, filming an advertisement or a drama, I’m always happy to work with children. They are full of joy and innocence. Plus, the little kids remind me of my own children and bonding with them is very natural for me.”

Moses added that his favorite festival when growing up was the Mid-Autumn Festival, which gave him many pleasant memories. He said, “When I was little, my big brother and I would play with lanterns and guess lantern riddles. We would compete to see who can correctly guess the most number of lantern riddles, with the winner getting a mooncake. Of course, my brother would win but he would always share his moon cakes with me. Now, I often spend Mid-Autumn Festival at work but there was a year when I came home to find a box of moon cakes and a note from my mother. I was very touched.”

As for this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, Moses hopes to spend it with his family. He said, “I’m usually so busy with work that it’s often just my wife [Aimee Chan 陳茵媺] left to look after the children by herself. I really hope that we can spend Mid-Autumn Festival together as a family, especially since it will be my youngest son’s first Mid-Autumn Festival!”
