Liza Wang “Blames” Bosco Wong for “War of In-Laws 3” Cancellation

Liza Wang (汪明荃) still hasn’t forgotten about the storm that came after the “Boscolie” breakup in 2012.

The Shaw Brothers television drama Flying Tiger 2 <飛虎之雷霆極戰> premiered in Hong Kong on TVB yesterday. Starring Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Ron Ng (吳卓羲), and Joel Chan (陳山聰), the police drama is the second part to Shaw Brothers’ unrelated drama series about the Special Duties Unit of the Hong Kong Police Force.

In a special program hosted by Liza Wang and Chin Ka-lok (錢嘉樂) for TVB’s myTV SUPER platform, the Flying Tiger cast not only talked about their experiences filming the show, but also gave Liza some insight into their own private lives.

Liza didn’t hesitate to point out that Bosco Wong was her favorite. Liza played Bosco’s mother in the War of In-Laws <野蠻奶奶> series, and she had witnessed Bosco’s chemistry with Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) blossom on and off set.

As Bosco passed out face masks to the crew on set, Liza joked, “I thought you were passing out wedding cards! Hurry up!” She then teased Bosco about his breakup with Myolie: “At the time Tommy Leung (梁家樹) said he wanted to do a black comedy vampire drama. But now I can no longer be a vampire mother-in-law because you broke up the partnership!” Bosco broke out in nervous laughter at Liza’s comments.

Liza then asked Ron if he had a girlfriend. The actor, who infamously dated Viann Zhang (張馨予) in 2012, said, “I’m waiting for the arrival of fate.” Chin Ka-lok joked that he found Ron’s answer to be “fake”. Liza defend Ron, saying, “Fate is definitely important. It’s all about the right timing. It took Law Kar-ying (羅家英) and I 21 years to get married!”

As the interview turned its focus to Joel, Liza praised the TVB actor for being mature and reliable. Joel admitted that his past dating scandal with Florinda Ho (何超雲) changed him as a person. “Because of that incident, I once felt lost. I had to rely on myself to pull out. It was my wife (Apple Ho 何麗萍) who helped me in every step of the way.”

On what he admired most about Apple, he said, “What you did in the past has nothing to do with me.”

  1. I started watching War of In-Laws 2 the other day cause #quarantine and Myolie was terrible. Her expressions were so overreacted and unnatural.

    Liza has bad taste.

omg, i never understood what the hype about myolie is. she’s not pretty and acting is average. there are plenty of pretty girls in tvb, i wonder how prettier ones couldn’t make it but she did. they make her sound like a beautiful goddess too the way how they talk about her.

I agree and I never enjoyed Myolie’s acting as it is average at best. Same with her looks but yet she is raking in the bucks..

Maybe it is not bad taste but she favors her and likes her in spite of her bad acting.I never enjoyed her acting and she never had the talent or the passion but just wanted the fame and money that came with being a celebrity. I always felt that acting just like singing is a skill/ talent that you either have or do not have. Experience may make you a bit better but if you naturally do not have you just do not.

      1. @hetieshou That’s a better way to put it! I feel like Myolie only fits the “dumb” and “annoying sister” type of roles. Any role that requires her to emote is out of her range. Her acting in TITS made me cringe—Francis Ng deserved better. I’d argue she’s below average out of all the fadans of her generation.

I was rewatching Moonlight Renaissance a few weeks ago and was super impressed with Kate, Tavia, and Fala’s acting skills. Myolie could not compare.

  2. Well if they wanted to have a part 3 they can always find a different actor it doesn’t have to be the same actor I mean look at the rest without the same actor they still continue with another part such as Forensic Heroes then Who Wants A Baby?

I agree but sadly some just focus on the cast too much and think the same cast must be in all sequels. I remember how everyone was against the new cast of Huan Zhu Ge Ge/Princess Pearl part 3 and I was one of the few that defended them. Why can’t people understand that there is much more to a series rather than the cast?
